arraybolt3[m]Simon Quigley: Silly question, but what client are you on? It keeps sending pings that look like "Eickmeyer @eickmeyer:matrix.org" rather than Eickmeyer. I'm on Element Web and Element Desktop.00:12
Eickmeyer[m]arraybolt3: Element be dumb like that sometimes.00:13
arraybolt3[m]Ah.00:13
Eickmeyer[m]It pinged me 3 ways from Sunday. If preceeded with the @, it gets me on Telegram, which gives me a heart attack for some reason, so don't abuse it. 😆00:14
arraybolt3[m]Sorry 😬00:14
Eickmeyer[m]No worries. #BlameSimon #ItsSimonsFault00:15

arraybolt3[m]OK, I have to make myself a derogatory meme just so that poor Simon isn't stuck taking all of the blame. This one was good:00:17
Eickmeyer[m]I swear I used that one the other day in here.00:17
arraybolt3[m]You did, I done horked it.00:17

Psil0[m]1Hey everyone, looking to get my hands dirty and looking for ways to help the community. How would I find out what is in demand or what is something I can do that is productive, to attempt to find a team or a project to work with? If someone can point me into a direction of something that is being completed, or in the works I could perhaps talk to some team leads and see how I can help out? Have SRE Experience.Willing to fill bug04:28
Psil0[m]1reports, do write ups, what ever is required at the moment to kind of show my worth, if someone can point me into the right direction., it would be greatly appreciated, Thanks :) 04:28

tsimonq2Has the daily been spun yet today? Anyone have the chance to test that LibreOffice bugfix?17:28
tsimonq2(Kinetic)17:29
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> On the way..hang on (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <tsimonq2> Has the daily been spun yet today? Anyone have the chance to test that LibreOffice bugfix?)17:33
LeoK[m]SOmething not right .running another test on baremetal..hang on 17:47
LeoK[m]Tested Kinectic daily ISO with Icelandic language installed and LibreOffice still opens in English user interface ..need to test maybe French17:55
LeoK[m]If I run the workaround i.e. manually install Icelandic to LibreOffice all good17:57
arraybolt3[m]LeoK[m]: I tested with German and it worked on my end.18:00
arraybolt3[m](I always used German or French for the test because the person who first reported the issue was German and French was just... I dunno, I guess it just popped into my head.)18:00
LeoK[m]ok i will test Danish - hang on18:03
arraybolt3[m]Leo K: What's the language code for Icelandic? I wonder if maybe this is a Calamares limitation with how it generates the locale code.18:03
LeoK[m]Icelandic code is IS18:03
arraybolt3[m]...18:04
* arraybolt3[m] checks patch, that should just work18:04
LeoK[m]IS works fine with calamares use it very often installing etc18:04
arraybolt3[m]Also, the system was connected to the Internet when you installed, right?18:04
LeoK[m]Of course!18:05
LeoK[m]Running the danish install now18:05
arraybolt3[m]Alright, what did I mess up this time...18:05
LeoK[m]Wait and see result..18:05
arraybolt3[m]I'm syncing the latest Kinetic daily so I can sanity check the version number - maybe the correct calamares-settings-ubuntu package just didn't make it in.18:06
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> on the manifest tho..18:07
arraybolt3[m]Forgot those existed.18:07
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> saves time ..install almost finished ..18:08
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> By the way..we having earthquakes and a new eruption yesterday..18:08
arraybolt3[m]Good grief, are you and those around you OK?18:09
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> Yes we are all ok...thanks for asking ..Danish works!! so maybe something with the IS code as I mentioned using the workaround Icelandic good18:10
arraybolt3[m]OK, that gives me a clue.18:11
arraybolt3[m]And I might have a fix for it.18:11
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> And I will be taking a break..18:11
arraybolt3[m]👍️18:11
arraybolt3[m]Found it.18:13
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> Quickly back at keyboard!! Great18:13
arraybolt3[m]The way the installer currently works, it pulls in libreoffice-help-$(LOCALE), which automatically pulls in libreoffice-l10n-$(LOCALE). But libreoffice-help-is doesn't exist (I guess they've not translated the help into Icelandic yet), while libreoffice-l10n-is does exist. So the help package is never installed since it's nonexistent, and therefore the l10n package gets left too.18:14
arraybolt3[m]So I just need to add one line to packages.conf to make sure it always pulls the l10n package anyway.18:14
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> Ah...Icelanders NEVER need HELP ..18:14
arraybolt3[m]🤣18:15
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> Back on break..18:15
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> This is why it is fun to test..18:15
arraybolt3[m]It's always the edge cases that will snag you.18:16
arraybolt3[m]That's the worst part of any programming - you spend 20% of the work getting it to mostly work, then 80% catching all the stragglers.18:17
arraybolt3[m]Simon Quigley: I'm making another version of calamares-settings-ubuntu for Kinetic due to a problem Leo K just discovered, do you need just the diff from the old fix to the new fix, or do you need a diff that includes both the old and new fixes? Also, should I bump the version number (I'm pretty sure I should)?18:22
Eickmeyer[m]arraybolt3: I'm working ${dayjob}, will the fix work for Studio as well (asking since you're in there)18:35
arraybolt3[m]Eickmeyer: Yep, and I'll be testing it there too.18:35
arraybolt3[m]Leo K: Alright, my second fix successfully gets LibreOffice to look right in Icelandic.20:49
tsimonq2<arraybolt3[m]> "Simon Quigley: I'm making..." <- For Kinetic I need one applicable to the archive. For Jammy make it into one please21:04
arraybolt3[m]Simon Quigley: Got it.21:04
arraybolt3[m]<arraybolt3[m]> "Leo K: Alright, my second fix..." <- Fix works on Lubuntu and Studio.21:37

Eickmeyer[m]arraybolt3: Yes.22:22

arraybolt3[m]Also fully tested on my end.23:56
tsimonq2Eickmeyer @eickmeyer:matrix.org: Please sponsor for Kinetic, I can be around later to rebuild ^^^^23:57
arraybolt3[m]I used Icelandic to test since it was the language that was b0rked last time, so if anyone else wants to test it first, that's what I used.23:57
