mardyjamesh: hi! So, I made some tests, and I don't think that snapd-desktop-integration has anything to do with the bug06:58
mardyjamesh: I unmounted its snap, stopped snapd, then told systemd to start the desktop integration service, but snapd was not started06:58
mardyI suspect it might be oem-config instead06:59
jameshmardy: okay. It's probably something causing snapd to activate from the socket though07:00
jameshmardy: one other thing I considered was xdg-desktop-portal, which will sometimes call "snap routine portal-info", but that'd only happen if a client that looked like a snap connected.07:01

mardyvorlon, bdmurray: would anyone of you have the bandwith to generate a new OEM image, containing the snapd from the edge channel? Just make sure that our workaround works15:31
bdmurraymardy: FYI there is no difference in the OEM image so it'd just be an Ubuntu desktop image. Do you know if we'd be able to test this with kinetic or just jammy?15:40
mardybdmurray: good question, I'd assume kinetic to have the same issue, but we should verify first. If the issue is not reproducible there, then indeed there's no point in testing the snapunder kinetic15:43
bdmurrayI have a meeting with Steve in 16 minutes and between the two of us we'll start a build15:45
-queuebot:#ubuntu-release- Builds: Ubuntu Desktop arm64+raspi [Jammy 22.04.1] has been updated (20220805)16:34
vorlonmardy, bdmurray: unfortunately we don't have support for pulling snaps from different channels in our classic images; I tried 'snap:snapd=edge' in the seed for kinetic and it still pulled revision 16292 from the store https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-cdimage/+livefs/ubuntu/kinetic/ubuntu/+build/363887 so I don't see a way to do this without hacking livecd-rootfs, publishing the snap to the stable16:40
vorlonchannel, or just testing via a post-boot hack of the live image16:40
bdmurrayWould the post-boot hack just involve refreshing snapd before doing the final OEM bit?16:42
vorlonbdmurray: I'm not sure, it depends on whether refreshing snapd is sufficient to change the .mount units on disk.  THe post-boot hack may require refreshing snapd from edge, and then force-reinstalling all of the snaps that are installed16:50
vorlonbdmurray: did you trigger rebuilds again of jammy images? do I need to do anything for the things still marked re-building on http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/437/builds ?17:02
bdmurrayvorlon: I did not trigger rebuilds, I wonder if a flavor lead did it and things are confused17:04

Eickmeyer[m]I wonder if someone bulk-triggered rebuilds then because we're all seeing unexpected rebuilds all the sudden.17:29
RikMillsbdmurray: flavour leads can only do that for their own ISO17:31
tsimonq2Some flavor leads hold more permissions than others when it comes to the tracker. I remember Walter could rebuild basically any image having admin rights17:32
tsimonq2Either way I'd hope there's logs somewhere...17:32
RikMillsok, I can't do it and didn't do it, that is all I know :P17:32

tsimonq2vorlon: kinetic-proposed lintian> LoB indicated to me that there may be some kind of "speedy process" to get those Perl deps MIRed. I'm very very rusty on MIRs, let alone this special case, so I've procrastinated. Any direction you could point me would be appreciated17:42
vorlontsimonq2: LoB?18:15
