[23:34] <sophie-w> It would need to implement https://github.com/MirServer/mir/blob/main/src/wayland/protocol/idle-inhibit-unstable-v1.xml. A minor problem is that this protocol requires the client to create a surface before it inhibits the compositor from idling.
[23:34] <sophie-w> Perhaps you could use https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wlroots/wlroots/-/blob/master/examples/layer-shell.c as an example. The problem could make a transparent layer shell surface (so that it does not steal focus) and use that to inhibit idle.
