[00:56] fyi, I was able to update Ubuntu Studio 20.04 by installing `xubuntu-desktop` and `kde-standard` removing `ubuntustudio-desktop` per the FAQ and then upgrading to 22.04.1 and reinstalling `ubuntustudio-desktop`. Had to setup pipewire myself. All is well. [00:57] s/setup/enable/ [00:57] s/removing/purging/, s/setup/enable/ [02:27] i was able to just upgrade from 20.04 to 22.04 straight without any problems, unless there are a few things sneaking around i have yet to find out? [02:28] calpoop: What desktop do you have now? Xfce or KDE? [02:28] im able to switch between xfce and kde [02:28] Oh wow cool! [02:29] there might be some strange side effects i have yet to discover [02:29] although nothing crazy like being bricked out of the machine [02:29] Well, for in the event things go haywire, keep a live ISO of 22.04 around. [02:29] yea, that could come in handy [02:30] I've seen people succeed (sometimes very well) doing things similar to what you're doing... but it can also go poorly. [02:30] Er, heard of, not seen. [02:30] hmm, im just grateful that it's going pretty smoothly for me, just wanna tell people that it is indeed possible [02:30] \o/ [04:00] calpoop: We've heard anecdotes of things going both way, hence it's at-your-own-risk.
