Eickmeyer[m]OvenWerks: I'm experimenting with moving away from Discover as the software updater, but that won't happen in time for Kinetic. I'm working on moving back to update-manager as the way to do it. It's just more robust.04:29
Eickmeyer[m]However, I did upload icons to reenable "Software Sources" and "Additional Drivers" directly from the menu. :)04:30
Eickmeyer[m]Should come in an update to ubuntustudio-menu. We can do that since it's part of the UI and we haven't yet hit UI freeze.04:31
OvenWerksEickmeyer[m]: I have no comment on that either way. I have not really had trouble with discover04:31
Eickmeyer[m]I'll be able to backport those via PPA to Jammy.04:32
OvenWerksright04:33
OvenWerksIf I had known what that settings item was, I would have used it. I was looking sources rather than drivers. (linux + drivers? Linux doesn't have drivers!?)04:38
Eickmeyer[m]Right. I'm just of the mindset of "why shouldn't there be icons?"14:13
wonko[m]I applaud your decision. I've never liked Discover.19:59
OvenWerkswonko[m]: I do like discover better than the usc or the gsw applications.22:36
OvenWerksThat is it is fine for installing sw but I do like the old update tool22:37
OvenWerksthough discover doesn't bother me for sw updates either. For new sw installs I prefer muon or synaptic over any of them. However, the current thought seems to be I am out dated :P22:38
OvenWerksThe big thing I like about those two applications is that they tell me waht is going to be removed so I can "try out" some sw.22:40
OvenWerksIt is good to know that half of my sw is going to vanish because some sw will only install if jackd1 is present and so will remove jackd2 and everything that depends on it... very messy22:41
