=== kostkon__ is now known as kostkon [10:58] hi, i've justed updated to 22.04.1 from 20.04. my machine's root is over iscsi (it's aarch64). after reboot, it cannot boot because the kernel says can not create NETLINK_ISCSI socket [Protocol not supported]. any ideas? [10:58] xs: in order someone can answer you, also take a look at the !jammy releasenotes in case there are known bugs about your case [10:58] on the initramfs /lib/modules/5.15.0-1014-raspi/kernel/ lacks anything like *iscsi* [10:59] !jammy [10:59] Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish) is the 36th release of Ubuntu and the current !LTS release – Download at https://ubuntu.com/download :: Release notes at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/jammy-jellyfish-release-notes :: Further schedule at https://ubottu.com/y/jj [10:59] i checked the release notes before upgrade, there wasn't anything about iscsi that i could see. [11:01] ok mate [11:01] idle around a bit here then xs weekend support in -server might be bit slower then weekdays [11:01] ok thanks === Guest133734 is now known as ASTERA [11:03] hi [11:06] xs: i dont see bugs related to that right away [11:08] thanks lotuspsychje i guess ubuntu 22.04.1 decided not to include iscsi in initramfs for arm64 for some reason. i'll see if i can unbrick and then get iscsi added. maybe i need to compile from scratch [11:09] xs: you stil got previous kernels to test/boot to rule out its kernel related? [11:14] no, because /boot/firmware only contains initramfs current, and initramfs old.. alas old never booted, it was just overwritten and replaced multiple times during the upgrade. it would make more sense to keep around the last initramfs that booted. [11:16] i will try to downgrade to an old snapshot of zfs and remote mount on another system. will require some network reconfig to expose the iscsi. [11:16] too bad ubuntu has these regressions :/ [11:16] are you on zfs? [11:16] yes [11:16] there's a known bug ubuntu zfs, see if its your case, holdon [11:17] xs: bug #1970066 [11:17] Bug 1970066 in snapd (Ubuntu Jammy) "(Encrypted) ZFS breaks 22.04 installation" [Critical, Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1970066 [11:18] ok thanks [11:19] errr. whoa. [11:19] i dont this that is your problem here [11:19] no but i am going to hit that after this. [11:20] im not sure if that always happens really [11:20] i could reproduce it with the video [11:20] if it does, affect to that bug IS aswell xs [11:20] ID [11:20] yep [11:20] i don't really want to use something with known fs bugs, tbh, i'll just downgrade back to 20.04, thanks. [11:21] also i did not try it with 22.04.1 yet [11:21] thanks for this, i would not have found this except the hard way. === Eickmeyer is now known as NotEickmeyer === Eickmeyer[l] is now known as Eickmeyer === tds3 is now known as tds
