[02:38] kinetic install; I usually `df -h;lsblk;blkid;....;neofetch` to explore install & noted today that neofetch isn't leaving cursor at bottom of lubuntu pic... anyone else noticing that? & is it an issue (we care about) ... reviewers may notice it [02:39] Didn't notice, will try to reproduce on next test. [02:39] thanks arraybolt3[m] [02:40] * guiverc will look again too, but as doing install testing I'm ignoring such issues; they need filing on live or installed systems in my opinion as not an install issue [03:40] Lubuntu Manual icon isn't opening for me (i don't have internet for firefox to do anything anyway), but error doesn't indicate that's the issue... (noting here as another install test & not install related...) [03:56] on another box same issue with neofetch; but kinetic changelog doesn't show change since april-2022 (upstream debian) that I can see [05:36] [telegram] saw it on 2 machines 2 days ago . need to check latest iso (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) kinetic install; I usually `df -h;lsblk;blkid;....;neofetch` to explore install & noted today that neofetch isn't leaving cursor at bottom of lubuntu pic... anyone else noticing that? & is it an issue (we care about) ... reviewers may notice it) [05:37] :) i noted you tested 27.2; expect it'd be the same as the 27.4 I noted [05:44] [telegram] will run a few tests on 27.4 later this am(here) (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) :) i noted you tested 27.2; expect it'd be the same as the 27.4 I noted) [11:22] [telegram] Upgrade using GUI fails - see bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1991096 [11:22] Launchpad bug 1991096 in ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) "Upgrading Lubuntu Jammy to Kinetic fails when using GUI" [Undecided, New] [11:24] yuk... [11:25] [telegram] using TUI with and without backports enabled - no issues [11:28] @Leokolb, I'd add that detail (TUI works perfectly) to the bug report; if bdmurray or someone looks at ^ bug report, it's likely detailed info (ie. not ubuntu-release-upgrader itself but GUI display/info) [11:28] [telegram] Will due —-tks (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) @Leokolb, I'd add that detail (TUI works perfectly) to the bug report; if bdmurray or someone looks at ^ bug report, it's likely detailed info (ie. not ubuntu-release-upgrader itself but GUI display/info)) [11:28] * guiverc my wording is poor/strained sorry.. [11:29] [telegram] mine too —will DO not due:) (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) my wording is poor/strained sorry..) [11:29] thanks for all that testing @Leokolb, appreciated ! [13:42] "Lubuntu Manual icon isn't..." <- Did you try to open the manual within a few minutes after bootup? [13:42] I can't recall how quickly or when sorry... too long ago now [13:43] guiverc: No problem. Manual link loads for me (on a possibly earlier ISO), and there's been recent problems with Firefox not showing up for the first few minutes after ISO boot and first installed system boot, so I thought that might be the problem. [13:45] Yeah I noted ref. to being slow on ISO boot.. I'll endeavour to try & remember to test for it tomorrow (tired & ~ready-for-bed now) [13:45] guiverc: I'll also be doing more testing if all goes according to plan, maybe try to resolve the upgrader issue too. [13:46] :) [13:48] (I also saw earlier today another kinetic bug that's appeared that isn't our issue.tracker I gotta re-test for; libreoffice help maybe) ... mostly saying this in hopes I'll recall tomorrow [13:48] s/isn't our/isn't on our/ ^ & my usual typos [13:49] Also, if someone does bare-metal tests before me, check lxqt-config-brightness. Someone reported a regression with it a while ago, I've still not tested it (lost track of time + $PERSONAL_LIFE went bonkers) [20:00] @Leokolb: When you're using the GUI upgrader, does it seem to just hang for long when it gets to "Installing the upgrades", and then crashes later? I'm trying to reproduce that error and I'm just stuck. [20:22] [telegram] Yes..the next step would be cleaning up if I remember correctly - did you see the secreen shot in the bug report? (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) @Leokolb: When you're using the GUI upgrader, does it seem to just hang for long when it gets to "Installing the upgrades", and then crashes later? [20:23] [telegram] on my machines only 2 min or so.. (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) I did. I'm just wondering if this long wait is normal for reproducing the bug or not.) [20:24] I've been stuck for 30 minutes to an hour over here. :/ [20:24] [telegram] see latest comment on the bug report (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) I've been stuck for 30 minutes to an hour over here. :/) [20:28] @Leokolb: Just interrupted the upgrade and confirmed that the likely cause mentioned in the bug report is indeed very likely (too many open files).
