[14:54] Hey there. Is this where I go if I'm stuck trying to file a bug on bugs.kde.org or is there a different channel for that? [14:59] I'm filling out a bug report on https://bugs.kde.org and I chose "krunner" as the "Product" and now must choose the "Component". It's offering me bookmarks, calculator, converter, filesearch, general, locations, places, spellchecker, webshortcuts, and windows. I tried to choose "general" and it won't let me. It's giving me red warning text that says: "You must select a Component for this bug." [14:59] The only component that seems to match the bug report I'm filing is "general" and I'm not sure which of the other unsuitable ones to pick so I can hit that Submit button. [15:00] hey Elliria, i think #kde-bugs would be a better place to ask that question, see https://userbase.kde.org/IRC_Channels [15:01] Ah, thank you! Konversation doesn't seem to have a channel search that I've been able to find. I appreciate the help. [21:29] Is there is a bounty hunter who wants to work on something to submit, please let me know. I have this weird issue with Ubuntu which is non-browser specific and only happens on the Amazon retail website. [21:29] Strangest shit I can think of, mates. The only temporary fix I have found is installing a program called imwheel [21:34] I am bag. My bad - had to step out for a big [21:34] *bit [21:35] Anyway - if there is a bug hunter here, let me know please. Perhaps money can be made after this. [21:35] *off of [21:45] Sorry - mates if any of you are actually here. The bug is related to the persistent crash which is kicking me out of this room invariably. I am running an apt update to fix broken packages to see if that will help. [21:47] bingoJACKPOT86: if you're looking for support with a non end-of-life ubuntu release, the channel for that is #ubuntu [21:47] No, afraid not, tomreyn, I'm looking for a business relationship with a bug bounty hunter. [21:47] it's free community support, no need to pay, but you will need to state the details. [21:47] Unless the support channel will pay me - haha, I doubt that [21:48] I don't want to just fix the problem on a personal level. I want to find the bad code, report it to Amazon or Canonical and get paid for it [21:48] i see, but this channel is not about that either [21:48] Also, the bug could entail a security hole which is even more money [21:48] Well, this channel was about nil until you finally said something after sheer silence for ten minutes [21:49] you mean the 10 minutes you had disconnected for? [21:49] Yes, and the two to three minutes of silence without comment between disconnects [21:50] well, it's normal here, this channel usually has very very low activity [21:50] The 2-3 minutes that elapsed, then someone said something while I was gone or attempted to return, then the same circular pattern. [21:50] I see [21:50] You getting annoyed, mate? I am not trying to start a fight here, brother [21:50] no, not at all [21:51] Yes, perhaps Discord is the right forum. Say, since you're here ... I can say, questions about frequent Ubuntu bugs are on topic then that relates to Linux as a whole [21:51] So if want to make it on topic, this next question, try me and I will [21:52] Anyway ... I've learned that With Linux ...If you use it as a desktop and don't simply devote it to one server role, it will bug out frequently. Because no one is getting paid to fix these things, their are often driver issues and bugs, which forces the end user to become a sort of makeshift SysAdmin. Would you agree with that? [21:52] *there are often [21:54] there's #ubuntu-discuss for high quality discussions about ubuntu, there is #linux for all kind of topics, mostly related to #linux, and there is #ubuntu-offtopic, for mostly social chat by people interested in ubuntu [21:54] Haha, you didn't like that. I will go there then.... Thank you [21:55] *this* channel is about Q&A regarding "how do i properly triagethis bug report" and "how do i properly request a stable release update"? [21:56] I see. I think if I'm being fair is that these channels are so strict to prevent random comments which produce inordinate noise...
