IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> On my Pavucontrol, from the Output devices>port: it only shows headphones even when I click the drop-down it doesn't show speaker, and sound only comes out from the speaker and not the headphone even if head phones is connected, same thing with alsamixer, it says headphones, but it represents the speaker and sound doesn't come out from headphones,00:28
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> Any solution to this?00:28

valorie@pjtunes be sure that you have not used some f-key which makes your speaker invisible to the system01:18
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> Really I haven't01:24
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> Let me check again01:24
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> Yes I'm sure (re @IrcsomeBot: <valorie> @pjtunes be sure that you have not used some f-key which makes your speaker invisible to the system)01:28
valorieI've lost my speakers, headphones and camera that way, which is why I mention it01:29
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> Oh wow01:29
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> How were you able to resolve it?01:29
valoriealsamixer usually displays them however01:29
valoriealsamixer, plus looking up the f-key combos on this laptop01:30
valorieI mean, I didn't lose them all at the same time01:30
valorieit seemed random01:31
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> My alsamixer doesn't even show speaker, just headphones, and it indicates sound's coming out from headphones but it's actually just speaket (re @IrcsomeBot: <valorie> alsamixer usually displays them however)01:31
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> Speaker*01:31
valoriewhich it probaly was, typo in low light01:31
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> Okay (re @IrcsomeBot: <valorie> it seemed random)01:31
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> I'll just keep trying out different options and see what works out then, kind of annoying (re @IrcsomeBot: <valorie> which it probaly was, typo in low light)01:32
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> That was why I was thinking about installing driverspack initially but I think there's no need for that01:33
IrcsomeBot<CrustyCrab55> This is certainly not Windows 11 😃 (re @PJtunes: )05:17
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> Haha, it's Ubuntu07:11
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> it's partitioned with win1107:11
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> Haha, it's Ubuntu07:12
IrcsomeBot<PJtunes> it's partitioned with win11 (re @CrustyCrab55: This is certainly not Windows 11 😃)07:12
IrcsomeBot<MrigendraB> Install Segoe UI font too (re @PJtunes: )11:55

I got xps 13 with secure boot disabled etc12:13
Guest36any ideas what might be the prob?12:13

clivejowell to take Kubuntu off, you need to install another operating system on it16:39
user|90Ok that's what I thought16:40
clivejobut Kubuntu was probably installed on it for a reason!16:41

cbreakI recommend kubuntu :)18:30
cbreakunless that device has secure-boot and locked firmware, you should be able to boot from arbitrary systems18:31

IrcsomeBot<Eickmeyer> Polling is generally frowned-upon in a support chat, so this isn't the place for that kind of question. (re @DrEl3araby: .)20:13
IrcsomeBot<Eickmeyer> As this is a "Kubuntu" channel, you're going to get very biased opinions heavily toward the Kubuntu side anyways, so this is not a good channel to be asking that kind of question anyhow, so please do not ask those kinds of questions here.20:14
IrcsomeBot<DrEl3araby> I know, but I want to know the comparison in point of Kubunt view, and I will ask mangarw users too (re @Eickmeyer: Polling is generally frowned-upon in a support chat, so this isn't the place for that kind of question.)20:56

IrcsomeBot<DrEl3araby> as the members of this group I want to know the point of stregth of it over mangaro20:57
IrcsomeBot<Eickmeyer> Still, it's not a support question and not allowed here, it's off-topic. (re @DrEl3araby: I know, but I want to know the comparison in point of Kubuntu view, and I will ask mangarw users too)20:57

Guest7574Hi, I am having issues occasionally on system startup22:27
Guest7574I have an autostart script that runs22:27
Guest7574This will work as intended22:27
Guest7574But either during this script execution, or not long after, my system freezes22:28
Guest7574I can tell this is going to happen because none of the task manager icons are responsive and if I try to use Konsole/Yakuake I get errors, sometimes saying "Warning: Could not find an interactive shell to start"22:29
IrcsomeBot<Naemi> Hi, I'm looking for a guy.23:17
* clivejo hides and pretends not to be a guy23:27
clivejoThis is not the guy you are looking for23:27
mparilloAnd Clive wins the Internet. At least for today.23:58
