[22:43] I have a possibly-silly question: I run a normal (non-country) Ubuntu archive mirror for my own use, and for public use. It does get some public traffic, and I am curious as to why. The installer defaults to either archive.ubuntu.com or a country mirror, right? [22:44] right [22:44] Is all of my traffic coming from people who have chosen to use mirror:// in their sources list, manually selecting a mirror, or using something like netselect? [22:44] is your mirror listed on https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archivemirrors ? [22:44] yeah [22:45] then thats people that chose your mirror from that list [22:45] (To be clear, I welcome the public use of this; I am just curious as to how people end up using it) [22:45] ahh ok [22:45] I am mildly surprised that this many people bother :) [22:45] the old installer also had a list included that let you select a mirror [22:45] i dont think the new installer offers that choice but it has been a while [22:47] Yeah, I think the current installer just asks you to type one in if you want something other than the default. Anyway, thanks for the info / sanity-check :) [22:47] yw
