Kubuntu 22.04? === tlucas is now known as Mopsie [08:03] tomreyn: sorry guys . I lost power last night. CAn we continue? [08:18] I'm having power issues. :-( [08:40] iomari891: what's the issue? [09:10] iomari891: my last lines were: Now, do delete the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ [09:10] Then try again apt full-upgrade, it should then show there are no packages to upgrade at all [09:16] alkisg: 1 sec ... [09:18] alkisg: done. no packages to upgrade [09:18] iomari891: so now you should be able to run do-release-upgrade [09:18] 1 sec ..... [09:19] alkisg: damn. Thanks. It's working. I owe you. :-) [09:19] But note it may still fail later on if it finds too much chaos in your sources and installed packages; ping me then for bigger fixes [09:20] alkisg: I'll do that. And I'll closely monitor my sources from now on. [12:28] Hi all [14:11] hello i have small but ANNOYING problem, i have 2 monitors and screens are separate, not mirror... BUT then it happends, watch the pic next [14:58] OD8H [14:58] 0D8H [15:07] Hello, I had a few failed updates from 22.04 to 22.10 in a row. Qt, KDE, and the kernel all updated from the old versions, but the OS remains 22.04. After the first failed update, I followed online instructions for what to do after a partial upgrade (both terminal and gui), and that again seemed to work until rebooting. However, it messed up the configuration files and caused warnings for duplicate configurations within sources.list . I aske [15:08] If I have the weird mixed sources.list, the update appears to go fine until the reboot, when the OS remains 22.04, and a pop-up appears notifying me of an available update to 22.10 (this and the regular update gui show a blank error message when it fails before rebooting). [15:08] duplicate warnings: https://pastebin.com/ctcbwkUq [15:08] kinetic sources failure (identical abort to no-duplicates in sources.list failure, except kinetic sources says sources.list is not valid): https://pastebin.com/B6gRkWHR [20:45] Hmm ever since the upgrade to 22.10, half the time when I come back to my desktop PC, the entire GUI session is locked up, no interaction possible. Computer is still running fine otherwise, VTs accessible just fine. Can't find anything obvious in journalctl but things are so noisy there these days (yeesh Spotify Snap, stop triggering AppArmor!) and I don't know when things broke, only that they're broke when I come back... [20:48] Fired up a Wayland session rather than an X11 session to see if that changes anything and wow Wayland still is uhh not there yet eh [20:49] I remember when I first used it back in 2014 on a phone, seemed pretty slick, but that last mile is always the lion's share of the effort I suppose === rosado is now known as mrkdm [21:50] hello there [21:51] anyone knows if its possible to use the fullscreen menu on kde but in a way that shows the taskbar? [22:47] Hi, I'm having an issue with the NVIDIA-520 driver, I can find it in driver manager in 22.04 but only 515.65 is avalible in Kubuntu 22.10, sudo apt install nvidia-driver-520 or nvidia-utils-520 doesn't work either in 22.10 [22:50] Funnily this seems to be an issue across all Ubuntu based distros I have tried, Ubuntu, KDEneon and Kubuntu, the only exception was Pop_OS! that doesn't seem to have it even on 22.04 and sudo apt-get install nvidia-utils-520-open (or without open) seems to break the OS on reboot [22:53] I can get the 520-open driver to work perfectly fine on Arch distros it just seems to have a hard time on Ubuntu 22.10 distros (With the exception of Pop_OS! on 22.04) There was a brief time it was on Pop but not anymore. I really want to get the latest Kubuntu and the latest driver and its a shame it's not working, you would think the open kernel [22:53] driver would have less issues
