arraybolt3[m]Alright! Finished debugging and tidying up the script, it is now fully automatic. I'm going to update the repo list, then I will need Gitea to remain entirely untouched while I run the script. This doesn't need to happen yet, I will announce it very loudly when it needs to happen and will ping pretty much everyone who needs to know.02:22
arraybolt3[m]teward: Uh... shouldn't Gitea be what GitHub mirrors, not the other way around?03:03
arraybolt3[m]I was just about to kick off the setup-gitea script and just discovered that probably 90% or more of the repos are going to not be properly updated since I can't push to them since they're a one-way mirror of GitHub.03:03
arraybolt3[m]And I don't exactly feel comfortable ripping away the mirror status of all of them :P03:03
arraybolt3[m]Anyway this is probably something to tackle tomorrow, but that's something that will probably need changed, I think.03:04
arraybolt3[m](I'm realizing now that we probably did things that way because that was how we got Gitea set up initially, so it actually makes sense.)03:04
arraybolt3[m]Also, Simon Quigley For when you do the code review, I did have to make some script changes due to bugs and extra functionality I had to add, so *this* is the script to review. I believe it is complete, and have tested it rather thoroughly.... (full message at <https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/v3/download/libera.chat/b32e4a71b80629a95be588dad369e0b317c8bb03>)03:09
arraybolt3[m](Obviously the finished version has stuff like API keys and passwords in it but those aren't going into Matrix for obvious reasons :P)03:10
tsimonq2still have not slept yet, withholding opinion, but great job :)03:11
arraybolt3[m]Simon Quigley: Good grief. Ubuntu Summit stuff still running you ragged?03:11
tsimonq2got two hours of sleep, went straight to Chicago (leaving at 4 AM) to get my passport (which I did, I'm going to the Ubuntu Summit 🎉), had to be there until after 4 PM, stopped by a $dayjob client on the way back to do an access point install, and am now an hour and a half away from slumber03:13
tsimonq2not to mention the thing preventing my sleep last night was a $dayjob emergency ;)03:14
arraybolt3[m]Sounds like dayjob may have become a misnomer...03:15
tsimonq2hah :P03:15
arraybolt3[m]Anyway, sorry to hear that, and glad that things are looking hopeful!03:15
tsimonq2I'm gonna go home, pass out, and hopefully wake up all refreshed and ready to look at things 03:15
arraybolt3[m]Sounds good. For some reason that reminded me that I'm hungry, so I think I should go get some food. See you tomorrow, may you rest well and stay safe!03:16
tsimonq2<arraybolt3[m]> "Sounds good. For some reason..." <- Thank you, you as well :)03:52
=== arraybolt3_ is now known as arraybolt3
kgiiiAnyone have an ETA for Lunar showing up in the testing tracker?16:48
lubot_[telegram] <Leokolb> I understand it will be very soon.. (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <kgiii> Anyone have an ETA for Lunar showing up in the testing tracker?)17:25
kgiiiThanks Leokolb. This is the longest it has gone (in my experience) without a new testing build. I've kept an eye on chat, but nobody mentioned any dates. Ah well... The break isn't necessarily a bad thing.17:43
arraybolt3[m]teward: Any update on reversing the mirroring of Gitea and GitHub if that's what we're intending to do?18:37
arraybolt3[m](Also, got a couple of Yubikeys today, so woot!)18:37
kc2bez[m]<arraybolt3[m]> "teward: Any update on reversing..." <- That was the intention. I thought I had mentioned that several times. Sorry if I wasn't clear. 18:56
kc2bez[m]Github was our mirror before when we were using phab and it should continue to be with Gitea 18:57
kc2bez[m]<arraybolt3[m]> "(Also, got a couple of Yubikeys..." <- Nice! 18:58
arraybolt3[m]<kc2bez[m]> "That was the intention. I..." <- So... I'm scared to do that myself lol19:15
arraybolt3[m]If that's what I should do, I'm happy to at least try, but I don't know if that's right. Are there any instructions on how exactly to set that up so that Gitea pushes to GitHub rather than pulling from it? Or should GitHub be set up to pull from Gitea, in which case I probably can't do that?19:16
* arraybolt3[m] should check my GitHub access, it dawns on me you guys keep giving me permissions and not telling me :P19:16
kc2bezI was hoping for Simon's help on that. ;) 19:18
tsimonq2Just woke up less than an hour ago 19:28
tsimonq2Dayjob comes first ;)19:28
arraybolt3[m]Also, something to maybe put on the list, this might be a silly idea but I'll run it past y'all to see what you think.19:37
arraybolt3[m]In macOS, I believe, rather than having a fixed-size swap file, the OS dynamically creates swapfiles as needed, then removes them as they are no longer necessary. RAM compression is also enabled by default. I'm wondering if maybe we could write something (probably just a Python script called by a systemd module) that would make Lubuntu do that? Considering that even Release Team people are getting their systems stuck in thrashing,19:37
arraybolt3[m]something like that might help a lot of people. And for Lubuntu specifically, it might make it both easier and more efficient to use Lubuntu on less powerful hardware.19:37
arraybolt3[m](I saw RAOF end up with his system thrashing just the other day.)19:38
tewardarraybolt3[m]: i assigned that to Simon to configure everything on the git / GH side of things i think he was doing it piecemeal, switching out side to nonmirror and then GH to mirror git.l.me20:33
tewardi've been in 'hair on fire' mode all day for dayjob so as soon as thats done with in 30 minutes i am gonna go get *drunk*20:34
arraybolt3[m]Well, it's just about the weekend again. I've got some stuff going on, so I probably won't be able to show up (at least not for long) until Monday. See you all then!22:46
