arraybolt3[m]I just remembered that our copyright files in LXQt are in disrepair and need audited. Sigh. Maybe we should just shove LXQt 1.1.0 and 1.2.0 out the door ASAP and then audit later? Or does anyone here think that doing the audit and the 1.2.0 update at the same time would be better?15:04
* arraybolt3[m] adds that to The List15:04
arraybolt3[m](Personally I'm leaning toward the "audit sooner rather than later" side but I also know that will be a hulking load of work and am worried that doing the audit might delay the release of LXQt 1.2.0 in Ubuntu a cycle.)15:06
tsimonq2<arraybolt3[m]> "I just remembered that our..." <- According to the DFSG, any package that is uploaded to the archive **MUST** have a valid copyright file 20:46
tsimonq2If we're talking just updating years, yeah, that's fine to let slide. Once authors and licenses start changing, I would be neglectful to not call that a hard blocker20:46
arraybolt3[m]tsimonq2: I think the problem is that the files were never done properly in the first place - like 70% of the info is missing in some of the files.20:47
arraybolt3[m]You can compare ones that just have a generic "LXQt team" copyright, with those I've audited and fixed - the change is dramatic.20:47
arraybolt3[m]Crud. That holds up the whole entire LXQt 1.1.0 works. The packages I've already submitted will have to be accepted or rejected by Andrew, then they'll need another MR with a full copyright file overhaul. The others will need overhauled before I submit them.20:49
tsimonq2arraybolt3[m]: Give him a few days to review it. If he doesn't, tell me, I'll merge and upload to the DELAYED queue20:51
arraybolt3[m]No problem, I have lots of other packages to work on. The amount of work each one is needing is... large, so I'm not all that terribly far along.20:53
kgiiiI dunno much about packaging or even preparing the daily .iso. Are the above reasons why Lunar is so slow getting into the testing tracker?20:58
kgiii(I'm just a tester, so there's not much I can do to help. Else I'd offer to lend a hand.)21:00
arraybolt3[m]I don't think so.21:03
tsimonq2The reason is, someone from either Launchpad or IS needs to allow Lunar livefses to be built. It's a manual process to devirtualize these builds, from my understanding, so it's outside of even the Release Team's control.21:08
kgiiiThanks @tsimonq2. That's way above my pay grade! The vacation is nice, I guess. I'll just have to be even more thorough when it does come down the pipeline. 21:10
tsimonq2That's for sure ;)21:20
kc2bezHmm, yeah maybe no. 22:30
