Craigello.  I am running the 18.10 version.  I didn't realize I needed to manually update my system all of these years.  How do I update to 22.04?15:34
lubot[telegram] <tsimonq2> Fresh install, saving your /home directory, is probably the easiest way at this point15:35
lubot[telegram] <tsimonq2> Otherwise you'll be going 18.10 -> 19.04 -> 19.10 -> 20.04 -> 22.04 heh15:36
CraigThank you.  To do a fresh install, how do I launch that?  I'm a senior citizen.  My son-in-law installed Lubuntu for me.  So, I'm not familiar with the process.15:38
CraigI found this...https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-upgrade-ubuntu-to-22-04-lts-jammy-jellyfish  Would this work?15:41

lubunteroHi everyone , I have 2 questions related, There is no oficial backports PPA to lubuntu 22.10, right? , I asked because I was trying to find the safest way to update lxqt to 1.2 version.19:20
tomreynlubuntero: if you look at the "published in" drop down at https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-dev/+archive/ubuntu/backports you'll see it only lists "jammy" (22.04), so i guess there's no backports for 22.10 (yet?).19:30
tomreynthe backports-staging ppa also has packages published for "jammy" only. https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-dev/+archive/ubuntu/backports-staging19:32
lubunteroYeah I found 2 versions of backports PPA and both had the 1.1.0 version.19:32
tomreynso i assume upgrading to lxqt 1.2 won't be an option anytime soon19:34
tomreynit's probably a major effort to make that possible / compatible, so i'd guess the next lxqt upgrade won't become available before a new release.19:35
tomreynbut that's just a guess, you might want to ask this in #lubuntu-devel, too19:37
lubunteroIf anyone is interested too, from lubuntu-devel:19:48
lubunteroThere are no plans for 22.10, as it's only an interim release, but there definitely are plans for 22.0419:48
lubunteroFor LXQt 1.2, I'd estimate before the end of the year19:49
lubunteroSee you over the net people, bye.19:49
