[02:40] <Mooncairn> I installed Grub into my MBR from Ubuntu, hacked away at the resulting brokenness until I could get a clean Ubuntu boot, and voilà, a working desktop (at 1280x768 resolution and only one screen up and running).

[17:30] <Mooncairn> I finally got Ubuntu working. It looks like the Nvidia proprietary drivers were only partially installed. I had to fully install them while at the same time not installing a ton of i386 packages that nvidia-driver-390 was wanting to pull in.

[17:31] <Mooncairn> Strangely, the GPU temperature is nice and cool. (With Debian and my old Quadro, the proprietary drivers had my card running 20 or 30 C hotter than nouveau.)
[17:33] <Mooncairn> I'm in Debian right now because I need to install a bunch of apps, and I'm not sure yet how to configure weechat to use SASL and all that goodness.
[17:34] <Mooncairn> My next step is to get weechat working in Debian (where I can see what a working quassel config looks like), then move the config over to Ubuntu.
