Roberalz[m]How do I have to add some .desktop with translations, if I can't find the upstream?13:55
Roberalz[m]How to add some .desktop with translations, if I can't find the upstream?13:58
arraybolt3[m]How was everyone's Thanksgiving?18:27
arraybolt3[m](I was out for most of the day, but now that I'm back, Happy Thanksgiving!)18:27
teward[m]*steals arraybolt3's money*19:14
teward[m]*runs*19:14
* arraybolt3 powers on black hole projector and sucks teward[m] and money into a singularity19:14
arraybolt3I didn't need that anyway. :P19:15
teward[m]hah19:17
arraybolt3[m]Heh, for once I'm on IRC and you're on Matrix. /me is back on Matrix19:18
arraybolt3[m]So... wrt openQA, anything I can be doing on that front?19:18
arraybolt3[m]Also, Simon Quigley Can that MP for calamares-settings-ubuntu be merged in?19:18
teward[m]arraybolt3: i'm still coming back from hangover yesterday so nothing on your front for OPenQA19:19
arraybolt3[m]Also I have to leave in a few hours and may be on only sporadically for today, so sorry if I end up not being around much. I'll try to be back Monday morning or Sunday night.19:19
teward[m]i'm still having to poke it and figure out what it *needs* to run on Ubuntu19:19
teward[m]and worst case it'll just be a CentOS or similar container just for that if it can't run on Ubuntu19:19
teward[m]it DOES however look like there's an openqa package in the repos maybe so19:20
arraybolt3[m]The package in the repos is in Universe, does that pose any security concerns?19:20
teward[m]it'd be the same if i had to install from source19:21
teward[m]i'm not as worried about Universe vs. Main and if it comes to it we can apply patches ourselves19:21
teward[m]but i would rather not have to from-scratch this and start with something already present in the repos19:21
arraybolt3[m]I one time got openQA sorta running locally once and was able to log in, I think I had to mess with Apache like crazy to make it happen though, and I didn't get beyond that due to a glitch.19:22
teward[m]wonder if openqa won't suit our needs, then.  *shrugs* it looks like it's sporadically maintained in Debian19:22
teward[m]but that's a tomorrow / Sunday task19:23
teward[m]today's a relax due to hangover day19:23
tsimonq2Here's the thing... I'd offer to make it more current in Ubuntu20:15
tsimonq2And get in touch with the maintainer 20:15
tsimonq2Except it's actually already up for Debian20:15
tsimonq2So it's worth asking what Debian does :P20:15
arraybolt3[m]Good point.20:16
tsimonq2In the meantime, like I said for a sandbox it wouldn't be terrible to use a RHEL-based distro20:17
arraybolt3[m]In the event we don't end up using Debian or Ubuntu as the base (which I agree we should), I think the next best bet would be openSUSE. After all, openQA is made by SUSE, so that's the OS it will probably work on with the least friction. But getting it working in Ubuntu wold be better.20:17
arraybolt3[m]s/wold/would/20:17
tsimonq2arraybolt3[m]: Same page :)20:17
lubot[telegram] <Roberalz> Rocky linux or Almalinux :p (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <tsimonq2> In the meantime, like I said for a sandbox it wouldn't be terrible to use a RHEL-based distro)22:05
