arthur_littlepawalright there, it works ^_^21:55
arthur_littlepawi have an msi trident 3 and it's got a case light i cannot seem to control in linux, however dmesg shows that during boot something called MSI_leds show's up with a figure after it like 0x32 now i suspect that kubuntu is controlling the case led because when it goes into standby the case light turns red and pulses....is there any way to get control of this? or is MSI_leds for something diffrent?21:57
arthur_littlepawanyone here to answer my question?23:03

ubottuPlease don't ask to ask a question, simply ask the question (all on ONE line and in the channel, so that others can read and follow it easily). If anyone knows the answer they will most likely reply. :-) See also !patience23:14
mmikowskiarthur_littlepaw: I believe those lights are controlled by EFI/BIOS.  The OS may put the system into sleep mode, but AFAIK, there is usually no direct method to control the lights through the OS.23:15
mmikowskiarthur_littlepaw: The LEDs exposed to the OS may be for the keyboard.23:17
mmikowskiarthur_littlepaw: FWIW, you can try this. I tested a few calls, and it did not seem to have any effect on my hardware (NOT an msi trident 3): https://linuxreviews.org/HOWTO_Control_LED_Lights23:29
