[03:27] <Mooncairn> AFAICT, they're part of GNOME's version of Spotlight for the Mac. Indexing and searching for system contents.
[03:30] <Mooncairn> They were running full-bore and kept respawning every time I tried stopping them, so I eventually had to kill -9 them.
