JustCuriousGood morning, I am trying to upgrade Ubuntu MATE 18.04 to 20.04 but my update-manager doesn't "see" any LTS releases available :O12:49
JustCuriousthis is what happens in my terminal: sudo do-release-upgrade -d -f DistUpgradeViewGtk3 ---> There is no development version of an LTS available. To upgrade to the latest non-LTS development release 12:50
JustCuriousset Prompt=normal in /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades12:50
JustCuriousit's 2022 lol12:50
sixwheeledbeastwhy -d flag?12:55
arraybolt3JustCurious: Did you remember to do a "sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade" first? And also, yes, drop the -d, that's not what you want.12:55
arraybolt3-d will try to upgrade you to a development release (the current development release being 23.04). If you want to upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04, you're not trying to go to a development release. (I think -d can also be useful for an "early upgrade" in one other situation, but this isn't that situation.)12:56
JustCuriousoh, thanks about -d flag12:57
JustCuriousI'll test doing an update and full-upgrade first12:57
JustCuriousbut I just want to upgrade to 20.04, not 19.1012:58
sixwheeledbeastmake a 20.04 live image and install over the top is another option.12:59
JustCuriousOK, I've done "sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade", then sudo do-release-upgrade -f DistUpgradeViewGtk3, and same result13:00
JustCurious"Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading"13:00
sixwheeledbeastreboot and do-release-upgrade iwth no args13:01
JustCuriousmmm13:01
JustCuriousI reboot be right back13:01

JustCurioussixwheeledbeast I would like to make de process with the Graphic app13:05
JustCuriouswhat if I execute do-release-upgrade with no arguments ?13:06
JustCuriousmust I upgrade to 20.04 previous releases ? 13:07
JustCuriousit's tricky for me13:07
JustCuriouswhen I execute "do-release-upgrade" the response is: "Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading"13:09

JustCuriousthe most popular solution is: 13:19
JustCurioussequence from 18.04 to 20.0413:19
JustCurioussudo apt update13:19
JustCurioussudo apt upgrade13:19
JustCurioussudo apt dist-upgrade13:19
JustCurioussudo apt autoremove13:19
JustCurioussudo do-release-upgrade -d -f DistUpgradeViewGtk313:19
sixwheeledbeastsomething must be blocking upgrade. the updates aren't complete or packages held back.13:22
JustCuriousapt list --upgradable13:25
