The native messaging support doesn't work in KDE Plasma. Removing "env" from the "Exec=" line makes it work. [18:52] (in the .desktop file) [18:53] Eickmeyer, iirc there were known issues with native messaging in some combos (and i think i remember there were kde bits involved) where you need flatpak to grant the portal permissions [18:53] gdm Simon McVittie 378365 * commented commit d6c6947 * https://deb.li/3JdmC [18:53] That's.... very odd. [18:54] I'd hate to seed flatpak. [18:54] i could remember that wrongly though ... the discussion was sadly spread between discourse.u.c and forum.snapraft.io [18:54] gdm Simon McVittie 378366 * commented commit d6c6947 * https://deb.li/nhPh [18:55] yeah we need to solve that anyway, can't be that you need to install fatpak to set two settings in the portal [18:55] +l [19:09] ogra: Coincidentally, just had a really nice xdg-desktop-portal crash that might be related. bug 2004192 [19:09] -ubottu:#ubuntu-desktop- Bug 2004192 in xdg-desktop-portal (Ubuntu) "xdg-desktop-portal crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread()" [Undecided, New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/2004192 [19:12] ouch [22:40] Hi jbicha! Do you know the reason why we delay the transition from /etc/fonts/conf.avail to /usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail ? [23:11] GunnarHj: hi, by looking through changelogs, I think that was done with https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fontconfig/2.10.1-0ubuntu1 [23:12] and we never got around to looking at doing the transition later. We just want things to keep working [23:12] You're welcome to do the transition if you believe things will still work correctly afterwards :) [23:16] unusually for me, it looks like I only touched the package once, for bionic :) [23:24] jbicha: That's an old upload... I don't really see which the details are which need to be sorted. :) What matters is /etc/fonts/conf.d, and as long the symlinks point at /usr instead of /etc all should be fine. I may make an attempt in a PPA to start with. Doing it will make future merges a bit simpler.
