cjwatsonWe're switching merges.ubuntu.com over to a new deployment.  This should be basically transparent, but the new deployment is bionic rather than precise (!) so please let me know if you spot any oddities11:41
cjwatson(And obviously I'd like to get past bionic, but upgrading by two LTSes in one go was enough for me)11:42
mdeslaurSkuggen: thanks for the update!12:09
ElliriaHey there. Is there a current replacement for the http://packages.ubuntu.com/python-gobject package?12:37
cjwatsonElliria: Nowadays (as in, for the last decade or so) python3-gi plus appropriate gir* packages is the way to go - https://pygobject.readthedocs.io/en/latest/guide/porting.html may be helpful12:42
ElliriaThank you very much, cjwatson!12:47
cjwatsonnp12:47
ElliriaI've been banging my head against this for a while.12:48
adrienI'm on +1 for Foundations and so far I've looked at python3-cssutils (ftbfs due to version being from 2017, commented on debian's BTS and LP bugs already opened), crystal (build-depends on itself, CI on salsa is broken due to that, LP #1998701 already opened but not visible on update_excuses), bettercap-caplets (depends on bettercap-ui which is not packaged and I saw no sign of it getting packaged)13:32
-ubottu:#ubuntu-devel- Launchpad bug 1998701 in crystal (Ubuntu) "FTBFS: circular dependency needs bootstrapping" [Undecided, New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/199870113:32
adrienand next one I'm going to look at is ocaml-odoc*13:47
enr0nutkarsh2102: just seeing all this now, but thank you for sponsoring14:20

nteodosiCan I have these autopkgtests triggered, please? https://termbin.com/dtuqu15:16
slyonnteodosi: "You submitted an invalid request: chromium-browser/110.0.5481.77-0ubuntu0.17.04.2 is not published in PPA canonical-chromium-builds/stage bionic"15:17
slyonmaybe the publisher did not yet run on the PPA?15:18
nteodosiHmm I think it was written off once I submitted a new version number?15:18
nteodosiSo I'll wait until it finishes building. Thanks anyway slyon.15:18
=== nteodosi is now known as nteodosio
slyonnteodosi: yeah you need to wait for it to finish building and all binary packages to be published (which is usually approx ~1h after finishing the build). Please re-ask for test triggers once all of that is done.15:20
nteodosioslyon, I was not clear. 110.0.5481.77-0ubuntu0.17.04.2 had already built, but thereafter submitted 18.04.2, which is still building. I thought I could run tests against the former.16:13
slyonoh I see. IIRC the src package publisher ran just a few minutes before I tried to click your links. So that might have overriden the former package version16:14
nteodosioYeah16:15
slyonsrc pkg is usually published earlier, but only after src+binaries are published we can run the autopkgtest16:17
vorlonbluesabre: is on my list, I'll try to get to it early this week16:27
liushuyuHi there, can someone help me add a distro release tracking table for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rustc/+bug/2005122 ? I need to track release for LL KK JJ FF and BB20:29
-ubottu:#ubuntu-devel- Launchpad bug 2005122 in rustc (Ubuntu) "Upgrade Rust to 1.66.1" [Undecided, In Progress]20:29
utkarsh2102enr0n: no problem, thanks for your work ;)20:32
liushuyuAnd also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cargo/+bug/2005123. Release for LL KK JJ FF and BB as well20:32
-ubottu:#ubuntu-devel- Launchpad bug 2005123 in cargo (Ubuntu) "Upgrade Cargo to 0.67.1" [Undecided, New]20:32
liushuyu... and I probably need to check with the Security Team to see if they are comfortable with pulling LLVM 15 into security pocket with older releases20:38
vorlonliushuyu: as it's a new package that does not take over any existing packages from the release pocket it should be uncontroversial; but you still need to check with them to make it actually happen :)21:17
liushuyuvorlon: Thank you! Will do in the #ubuntu-security channel21:18
nteodosioCan I get these autopkgtests triggered please? https://termbin.com/ym0lc22:27
