[05:43] It seams that fresh installs of Kubuntu KDE Plasma constantly have this issue. [05:43] By installing Fresh new Global Themes the Application Styles does not add new styles. [05:43] Is there a work around or an separate Plasma update guide available to fix this? [07:46] :/ [12:59] Hi all [13:30] Hi BluesKaj @BluesKaj:libera.chat: [13:37] hi Roberalz[m] === amiga is now known as Tweaker [13:54] hi all. quick question. how can i change my default window manager from kwin to emerald/compiz? have it all installed and working, but i have to either put the "fusion icon" in startup, which causes flickering but works, or simply click the fusion icon (which also causes flickering). I would like to replace the default window manager to remove the whole replacing thing, and just have compiz be default, but am at a loss as to how. [14:04] tried using "choosewm" but it only shows kwin_x11 [14:14] need reboot, back fast === amiga is now known as Tweaker [14:31] my real goal is to just use emerald for the window decorations, but emerald --replace does not work [14:31] only way they get replaced is by running fusion [14:40] meh i will go ask in forums [15:13] guys pls help me out, i downloaded metasploit using snap, now i do not know where the default path is === ahmed__ is now known as saidi === saidi is now known as Guest7993 [18:54] hi, I what to avoid the login window whe I start my computer, in other words, start without password [18:54] in kubuntu [18:55] Now I use my password to login in but I dont want it any more just satar my computer and go in [19:07] Hello [19:07] is there any way I can customize taskbar only? [19:08] OrĀ  more exactly, how can I manipulate the settings of the taskbar itself [19:08] ? [19:17] Right click on the task bar and select "Configure Icons only Task Manager" === amiga is now known as Oderus [19:58] hi. has anyone gotten emerald+smaragd to work in kubuntu 22.04? Or, does anyone know how to replace KWin as the default WM with compiz? [20:06] ideally, i'd like to replace kwin with compiz but still be using plasma [20:11] Not quite what you're looking for, but you might want to approach it from the opposite direction, ie. start in a more limited session like Openbox and then just start the portions of Plasma you want, ex. plasmashell [20:12] Over the years I've sometimes had quite a bit of success with that approach when for some reason or another KWin and my system wasn't playing nicely. I know at least at one point you'd even get session options for Openbox+Plasma in the DM options! [20:15] hmmmmmmm that may be a good idea [20:16] i know in kubuntu 19.04 i had no problem at all but this time, i can't seem to replace the default (kwin) with compiz, on a permanent and default basis [21:47] Anamore: which task bard [21:47] Anamore: which taskbar? [23:08] after a recent update, scroll wheel on mouse not working [23:11] Hiya good folks. I have downloaded Kubuntu and tried to connect my phone with KDE Connect but they can not find each other. Do you guys have any tips and tricks to get that going? [23:18] Regarding KDE connect, ensure both computer and phone are connect to the same network (note: commercial or business networks block user discovery and thus blocking KDE connect). Next, ensure to give KDE connect permission to access all the desired functions on your phone. [23:22] Its just my own home network I am fiddling around in and there is no discovery in the devices unfortunately [23:27] Do you see any devices when opening the KDE app from the PC? Ensure to wake your phone as sometime Android will force sleep background apps. [23:39] I see nothing in the app in the computer and nothing in the phone. Ive tried opening them the same time, reinstalling the apps in both phone and computer, tried a few distros with KDE and I just do not seem to get that going. I have a phone stripped of googles surveillance package in Android, will that make any difference? [23:55] I have never had to troubleshoot this type of issue with KDE connect... it's always "just worked" for me. [23:56] Barbudo: Are you able to ping your phone from your Kubuntu instance? If you aren't, that likely points towards the problem. [23:58] xo2x [23:59] I V [23:59] 3 T M J
