lubot[telegram] <w_of_joz> Hi. I just installed Lubuntu 23.04. I don´t see any other issues with it except when I try to install the printer driver:10:22

lubot[telegram] <w_of_joz> What am I suppose to do to get that driver installed please?10:22
kc2bez[m]@w_of_joz Where is that printer driver from? It is possible Epson does not have support for 23.04 yet.10:32
lubot[telegram] <w_of_joz> I got the driver from Epson's website. It always worked with all distros I used to have installed so far. It just needs the lsb package. Which I got in this latest Lubuntu by installing lsb-base package. Somehow the driver can't see lsb exist on the system. (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <kc2bez[m]> @w_of_joz Where is that printer driver from? It is possible Epson does not have support for 23.04 yet.)10:36
lubot[telegram] <wofjoz> OK now I see there is an Lubuntu package called "printer-driver-escpr" in official repo of Lubuntu. Maybe I should try that one. Most probably there is no difference for my printer.10:37
kc2bez[m]If there is one in the official repo it should pull in the necessary dependencies with the correct versions. My guess is the the one on the Epson page has a different version dependency than the one in the repo which is why it is failing to find that package.10:40
lubot[telegram] <w_of_joz> it needs lsb 3 or higher. Anyway, if I open the deb file with archive manager I see a PPD for my printer inside. Maybe I could just use the PPD and see if that works :)10:41
kc2bez[m]I would use the one in the official repo just to play it safe.10:42
lubot[telegram] <w_of_joz> Yeah, maybe I better try that first and see how it goes10:44
RandomPerson6547Hey hey! Does Lubuntu make use of snap packages?15:19
kc2bez[m]Yes, Firefox for example is a snap.15:20
