[20:19] Eickmeyer[m]: there may be trouble brewing in jackd2 land. https://jackdbus.ladish.org/ [20:23] see the bottom of the page for "references:" The page it points to is dated 2017. It seems after a gap of 10years Nedco has returned and started dev work on jackd2 but it also seems he may not be including all the work Falktx has done since he had taken it over. He is also said something about pipewire being a part of it. jackd1 may become a thing again. :P [20:29] " nedko> jackdbus is going pipewire, in case you missed it" [20:34] From the page above: In 2008/2009, jackdbus was ported to jackdmp codebase along with an implementation of the newly designed for the new need control API for JACK. The result of this merge became known as JACK2. As of 2022, jackdbus is again maintained in LADI project. The jackaudio.org version of jackdbus is considered older/alternative implementation. [20:37] So it looks like jackdbus is expected to be an add-on to jackdmp (AKA jackd2). I am seriously considering working directly with jackd on the command line and forget about dbus running jackd. It will depend on what falktx does I guess.
