pjotter1I recently bought an HP Elitebook and installed Xubuntu 22.04 It has "Bang & Olufsen" speakers, but the volume is way too loud and sounds almost distorted. Just for comparison, I installed Windows 11 and the sound/volume was just fine. So, somehow (X)Ubuntu is not handling the sound correctly. Does anybody have an idea what the problem could be?19:02
diogenes_Vx15pjotter1, is your sound server pipewire or pulseaudio?19:08
pjotter1pulseaudio19:08
pjotter1On the internet, I found different topics about this problem, but all 'sollutions' are pretty vague.19:10
diogenes_Vx15pjotter1, so maybe try pipewire.19:10
pjotter1I might give it a try. See if it improves anything.19:13
pjotter1The overall sound is not too bad, but could be a lot better. It;s a bit high pitched, lacks bass and sometimes sounds too loud/distorted even when the volume is turned down.19:14
pjotter1diogenes_: Thanks for the tip! I install pipewire and I think it worked. Everything sounds much better now.21:14
