surfzoidone suggestion, from overview page, there is apt-add-repository ppa:user/repository , it will add last unbutu version of the ppa, for older ubuntu we have a manual way , click on "Technical details about this PPA", then manually tweak /etc/apt, but apt-add-repository ppa:user/distro/repository should be more easy and beautiful 18:09
cjwatsonsurfzoid: It makes no actual difference either way except in some edge cases that aren't currently relevant anywhere.20:45
cjwatsonThe newer form is technically slightly more accurate, yes, but it's no more or less "manual".20:46
cjwatsonUnless you mean something else that I haven't quite managed to parse from your question ...20:46
Odd_BlokeI think they're saying that having `apt-add-repository ppa:user/distro/repository` listed under the "Technical details about this PPA" section would simplify the instructions for that case: instead of users having to edit their sources.list (and, e.g., fail to use a .d file), they could simply execute that command.21:18
rbasakIsn't that what we already do? I don't understand what the suggestion is that's different from the current state.21:26
