I'm Andrei, one of the members of the Ubuntu kernel team. I have been cranking various kernels for at least half a year, based on which work I would like to apply for upload rights. [15:41] Here is my application: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/agherzan/KernelUploadsApplication [15:41] Would Andrei's sponsors like to say anything... [15:41] From what I saw when reviewing I am happy with granting PPI rights. [15:41] I sponsored at least one upload for Andrei. It was thorough and correct. [15:42] Andrei has a great technical background and I have reviewed some of his kernels, which were all prepared with care. I'm +1 for him getting upload rights. [15:42] i also sponsored stuff from andrei, it was of high quality from initial submission. [15:42] Ive sponsored a good amount of uploads from Andrei and everything has also been prepared well. [15:45] Thank you! [15:45] Hello there! I am Roxana and I help the stable team to deliver stable releases. That implies preparing packages, solving bugs, and applying patches. I have been doing this for the last 6 months and I believe am ready to get upload rights! [15:45] Here’s my application: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/roxanan/KernelUploadRightsApplication [15:46] Would Roxana's sponsors like to say anything... [15:46] Did a bunch of reviews and found them well done. Getting bored of doing more. +1 for PPU rights [15:46] I have reviewed and sponsored several kernels prepared by Roxana and they have been all prepared with care and attention to details. I'm +1 for granting her upload rights for kernel packages. [15:46] Roxana always is always very thorough and everything is always very well prepared and thought through. Ive sponosored a good amoutn of her stuff I very much trust her with my +1 [15:46] Any questions for Roxana? [15:47] not a sponsor, but was impressed with SRU submissions from Roxana which i did review. [15:47] also always open to feedback and improvements, and strives for excellent code all the time. [15:47] xnox, was that for the kernel, or other packages (a positive) [15:47] non-kernel packages, but kernel too. [15:47] nice. thanks. [15:47] Ok, calling a formal vote. [15:49] Fourth we will review the application by Emil Renner Berthing: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/esmil/KernelUploadRightsApplication [15:49] Emil would you introduce yourself... [15:49] Yes [15:50] Hi, I'm Emil. I've been cranking the RISC-V kernels and doing patchsets for supporting more hardware since about July last year [15:50] I'd like upload rights to push my own kernels. Here is my application: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/esmil/KernelUploadRightsApplication [15:51] o/ [15:51] Would Emil's sponsors like to say anything... [15:51] I've reviewed at least one kernel submission and found it to be correct and complete. [15:51] Esmil was quick in fixing an issue with one of his packages and understood why the changes were necessary. I am +1 for Esmil PPU. [15:51] Emil is our RISC-V person and has gathered a lot of experience with packaging during his time at Canonical. I have reviewed and sponsored a bunch of his kernels and they were all done with care. I believe he is ready for being granted upload rights for kernel packages. [15:52] Any questions for Emil? [15:52] i like emil's upstream contributions and refactoring code, such it is is always split into logical self contained, easy to review portions, and always applies cleanly. this is expecially useful when he is landing massive patch bombs of lots of platform enablement code. [15:52] nice [15:52] Ok, calling a formal vote. Would members of the ubuntu-kernel-uploaders please vote now: [15:53] +1 [15:53] +1 [15:53] +1 [15:53] +1 [15:53] +1 [15:53] +1 [15:53] +1 [15:53] +1 [15:53] +1 [15:53] +1 [15:54] +1 [15:54] Congratulations by my count your application has been approved. We will sort out your permissions shortly. [15:54] Fifth (and finally) we will review the applicaton by John Cabaj: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/john-cabaj/KernelUploadRightsApplication [15:54] John would you introduce yourself... [15:55] Hi, I'm John, and I've been with Canonical for 9 months. [15:55] I'm responsible for 7 kernels at present. [15:55] I'm hoping to be granted upload rights for these and other kernels in support of our SRU cycle. [15:55] Here is my application - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/john-cabaj/KernelUploadRightsApplication [15:55] Would John's sponsors like to say anything... [15:56] Ive reviewed a few of John's kernels and they are always well prepared and he is always quick to fix/understand things. I trust him with my +1 [15:56] I've reviewed a number of John's packages. Other then some early learning curve mistakes, his submissions have been correct and thorough. [15:56] not a sponsor, but John's uploads that I reviewed were of expected quality and I trust John to understand the process and be careful with his uploads [15:56] I've reviewed and sponsored quite a few kernels for John, his work has been clean and correct. I trust him with upload rights +1 [15:56] I've work with john on landing changes to support livepatch on s390x architecture which required lots of changes to many portions of the project across multipel packages and toolchain. It was exciting work with someone who understood how all the pieces work together and was able to successfully land of the required changes. I.e. gcc SRUs which are typically a very difficult package to [15:56] change. [15:56] I have reviewed quite a few of John's kernels, and he has always taken feedback well, and incorporated it into the subsequent kernel cranks. He has been thorough with his work, and it has been of high quality. [15:57] Any questions for John? [15:57] No question just as a note (to actually all) that with upload rights you are not expected to know everything but to know to ask when in doubt. And being careful when executing new posers. ;) [15:57] powers even [15:57] Not a sponsor but I have reviewed some of the kernels that John has prepared and he is able to produce good quality kernels even when facing complicated package issues [15:57] "Posers shall be executed!" [15:57] Ok, calling a formal vote. Would members of the ubuntu-kernel-uploaders please vote now: [15:57] execute the poser [15:57] +1 [15:57] +1 [15:57] +1 [15:57] +1 [15:57] +1 [15:57] +1 [15:57] +1 [15:57] +1 [15:58] +1 [15:58] +1 [15:58] +1 [15:58] Congratulations by my count your application has been approved. We will sort out your permissions shortly. [15:58] Thanks, all! [15:58] apw is tasked with actioning the new permissions and announcing them appropriatly.
