OvenWerksmy first intro to flatpacks. So far so good.03:44
OvenWerksThe version of opencpn that ubuntu has is old... and sometimes mouse movements turns the whole screen black except for a few lines. There is a newer version out and they have a PPA. Yahoo! install PPA and... nothing. Maybe I can just download the package and install, but no, the PPA only supports LTS and I can't use the LTS because the kernel doesn't support my computer. So I can run an 03:48
OvenWerksolder OS and get an upto date package or run a newer os with an older package...  :P03:48
OvenWerksSo flatpack it is. Ubuntu doesn't install flatpack utilities by default (cause they want people to use the walled garden of snaps) So install flatpack first.03:50
OvenWerksbetween snaps and ESM, ubuntu is loosing my trust.03:52
EickmeyerOvenWerks: "cause they want people to use the walled garden of snap" that's not true. I was one of the people that came up with the policy on not installing flatpak tools by default. It was because, by installing it by default, that implies support for flatpaks, which can be installed from anywhere. Not sure where you got the FUD from, but it's19:56

EickmeyerAs far as ESM (I think you're referring to Ubuntu Pro?), that's a free opt-in for up to 5 personal machines. If you became an Ubuntu member (which you are MORE than qualified for), that would give you 50 machines.19:58
