[13:31] lspci shows the correct device, but aplay doesnlt [13:34] i read before you are trying kernel 6.4.4 ? [13:34] even compiled yourself? === paolo is now known as pa0op [13:38] and is it intel HD780 or intel arc a780 [13:38] intel i9 13900K [13:39] oke, so it is a780 [13:39] to new, i guess, try 23.04 ? https://askubuntu.com/questions/1464543/integrated-graphics-not-working-properly [13:40] or install HWE/HWE-edge ? [13:40] !hwe [13:40] The Ubuntu LTS enablement stacks provide newer kernel and X support for existing LTS releases, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack [13:40] not sure you should try the intel guide; https://dgpu-docs.intel.com/installation-guides/ubuntu/ubuntu-jammy-arc.html [13:46] the graphics is working properly. The device is also shown with inxi but driver N/A. When executing aplay -l I get only my usb headset, but no intel device for HDMI [13:47] well, custom kernel, i cannot help you with [13:47] karstenk, check your pavucontrol/output devices/show advanced settings..make sure the listed codecs like DFS DD etc boxes are checked [13:47] DFS=DTS [13:54] check for a bios update [13:57] so now i loaded the LTS kernel 5.19.0-50-generic and have the same problem with no sound over HDMI from intel a780 iGPU [13:58] karstenk, try xanmod kernel. [13:59] with HWE-edge you would have 6.2 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jammy/+package/linux-image-generic-hwe-22.04-edge [13:59] xanmod kernel?? why ? [13:59] rather use the mainline .. [14:02] oerheks now on 6.2.0-26-generic and now? Same problem exists [14:04] karstenk: why do you think its the driver, have you checked the config already? [14:05] or other parts of the equation [14:06] Paddy-RW I think it is the driver, cause the hardware is listet as audio device, but i cant find the device in aplay [14:09] $ /sbin/lsmod | grep snd_hda_intel has no output [14:12] Could this problem rely to IOMMU? [14:18] I'm doing a do-release-upgrade on a server [14:19] I have this message: [14:19] There are services installed on your system which need to be restarted when certain libraries, such as libpam, libc, and libssl, are upgraded. Since these restarts may cause interruptions of service for the system, you will normally be prompted on each upgrade for the list of services you wish to restart. You can choose this option to avoid being prompted; instead, all necessary restarts will be done for you automatically so you can avoid being asked [14:19] questions on each library upgrade. [14:19] yes or no? [14:20] yes? [14:20] why not? [14:21] Ok [14:44] mh, ok with modprobe snd_hda_intel it works. === paolo is now known as p4op === p4op is now known as p40p [16:38] Hey there, I use Kubuntu 220.4 LTS and have a few files on the desktop. The Tasks.md file (which is written in Markdown) is listed in italic in Dolphin, but if I go into another directory where I keep several Markdown files, they're not listed in italic. Any idea why? [16:38] Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/ytjGW4O [16:41] Elliria, oh simple, if you add an empty file to that folder, so it is ' modified: just now" that one gets listed in italic [16:41] just the last file gets that kind of highlight, conveniant [16:42] But the file isn't empty. Why is it in italic? [16:42] it is the last file modified [16:42] Ah, let me try modifying one of the others. [16:42] jups, as test [16:44] Nope. I added a screenshot of the result to the same https://imgur.com/a/ytjGW4O link. It's baffling. [16:44] Mittens.txt got the most recent change. [16:45] Even stranger, Dolphin changed the created time-stamp to just now as well even though that file had already existed. [16:46] weird? [16:46] In case it's of any use, this is Dolphin 21.12.3 that I'm using, [16:46] I know, right? [16:46] is tasks.md still open in markdown? [16:47] It's still in Markdown. [16:47] what happens if you quit markdown? [16:47] I just copied Tasks.md into the directory where my other Markdown files are an it's still in italic and the others aren't. [16:47] The file isn't open and wasn't open during the screenshots. [16:47] oke, just a check. [16:48] then no, i had no other answer than last modified [16:49] I added a screenshot of Taks.md now sitting inside my directory of other well-behaved Markdown files. Heh. [16:49] I swear I'm Murphy. Chaois seems to follow me/ [16:52] oke, so it took a while to get updated. [16:52] I asked in the KDE channel, too, but haven't received any responses so far. Thanks for trying to help. [16:54] have fun! [16:55] Thanks. You, too. === ahoenig is now known as _______alex [17:39] SPL9 [17:39] UOWA [17:39] U0WA [23:38] LDZC [23:38] OYTS [23:42] Hey there, is it possible to upgrade the emoji font to Unicode v. 15? I'd love to use the donkey emoji! (I tried deleting Noto Color Emoji and installing it manually, but that broke the emoji-picker, so i redid this.) [23:44] Or will it be in Kubuntu 24 automatically? [23:45] 🫏 [23:51] install fonts-noto-color-emoji https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2023/02/unicode-15-ubuntu-22-04-lts [23:51] and reboot
