[10:02] <Simon15> Hi, just trying to install Lubuntu on an old desktop and i'm struggling with the partitions, the installer is asking me to configure but I cannot get to a configuration where it will let me press "next"

[10:12] <lubot> [matrix] <kc2bez> Erase disk might not show if your disk is an eMMC too. It looks like a removable drive and the live system automatically mounts it. You should be able to just unmount it before starting the installer and erase should show then.
[10:12] <Simon15> Ah, how do I unmount?
[10:14] <Simon15> I think the disk is a SATA....around 2Tb
[10:14] <lubot> [matrix] <kc2bez> The gui method is to use KDE Partition manager. Select the partition and in the tools menu unmopunt should be there.

[10:19] <Simon15> Thanks, I have un-mounted what apears to be the only mounted partition, I have restarted the installer and I still get just the "manual partitioning" option. Do I need to restart the machine?
[10:20] <lubot> [matrix] <kc2bez> No, you shouldn't need to. If you do restart you will need to make sure everything is unmounted again.

[13:29] <simon15> I have to boot from my usb in 'safe display', then I've managed to get the hard disk install to work....but when I reboot, the display does not work...any suggestions?
