If you add an ibus input method the issue will show up in all keyboard layout. (re @IrcsomeBot: <weedmic> seems to work as expected - so not a kubuntu issue as far as I can tell.)

[12:19] <IrcsomeBot> <RankCoder> For example if you are an English speaker you may need to add IPA-X-SAMPA , typing booster etc. Or if your language uses complex script then you may need ibus. (re @IrcsomeBot: <weedmic> oic - so why would one add an ibus input?)

That only partially helped for the obvious name reason (no 'k' before ubuntu) and the other being there is no username to enter. So it finally
