[00:58] enr0n: hey, just wanted to give you a heads up about https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/2033325 and ask if you'd like me to upload a backported fix for it. thanks [00:58] -ubottu:#ubuntu-devel- Launchpad bug 2033325 in systemd (Ubuntu) "systemd fails to set unit as inactive when using socket activation and the main process has exited" [Critical, New] [09:18] I am looking for a sponsor for LP #2033071 which is a simple rebuild against updated dependencies. [09:18] -ubottu:#ubuntu-devel- Launchpad bug 2033071 in cd-boot-images-riscv64 (Ubuntu) "Rebuild against GRUB2 2.12 and U-Boot 2023.07 with OpenSBI 1.3" [Undecided, New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/2033071 [11:04] @pilot in === ChanServ changed the topic of #ubuntu-devel to: Archive: Mantic Open | Devel of Ubuntu (not support) | Build failures: http://qa.ubuntuwire.com/ftbfs/ | #ubuntu for support and discussion of Bionic-Lunar | Patch Pilots: seb128, sil2100 [11:48] hello, i try to build binary debian package with debmake and debuild, project is using qmake build system, i override some dh commands in debian/rules, i cant figure out why my target executable not include in deb package (only some docs like copyright, etc) [12:36] kachmar: would it be possible for you to share the source package somehow? It would be easier for me to figure out what's missing [12:49] i want to get the idea, for example i have build binary deb package, for this time with checkinstall, if i try install this package in clear environment, i get errors on start because of missing dependencies. how to install this deps during installation process of debian package [12:53] sil2100: thanks, probably, i can, but its not much of a package, most of template files are default. [12:55] kachmar: when creating a debian source package, from which you then build the binary package, there's the debian/control file where you define all the binary packages that you want to build from that source package. Each entry for a binary package can have a dependency list of packages that are required, starting with the Depends: tag [12:56] how this packages will be installed on user hosts? [12:57] for example, ершы вузы акщь ззф [12:57] for example, this deps from ppa [12:57] probable i should add entry in sources.list during installation [12:58] sorry for my english [12:58] If a binary package has a list of Depends:, those will be installed when the package itself is to be installed. But if those packages come from a PPA then you have to make sure that the user enables the PPA by themselves [12:59] A package itself should not enable foreign archives/PPAs without the users knowledge or consent [12:59] As for packaging itself, I know this is still being worked on but you can find some nice tips and howtos here: https://canonical-ubuntu-packaging-guide.readthedocs-hosted.com/en/latest/ [13:01] so it is not good practice to modify files with sources, even with notice? [13:02] > A package itself should not enable foreign archives/PPAs without the users knowledge or consent [13:32] sergiodj: If you already have a patch, you can open a PR at https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+git/systemd/+ref/ubuntu-mantic. Otherwise I can just do it myself quickly [14:20] enr0n: I don't have a backported patch ready, so I'll leave it to you then :) [14:23] sergiodj: ack, building in my PPA now [14:23] thanks!
