SpaceBassI'm trying to mount an NFS v4 krb5 mount at boot as a user and I'm hitting a dead end. If I try as user I get 'failed to apply fstab options' (fstab includes the user option)... if I try as root, it is the wrong user ID 15:44
ahasenackwhen trying as root, there is an option to use a machine keytab (host/*) instead of a user's tgt. I think the default is machine19:19
ahasenacksee what klist -k shows you (as root)19:20
daemonhey all quick q, I seem to have a server kind of hanging on install unless its just installing very slowlly https://imgur.com/a/vZQVPDv (2 images as its not really possible to dpaste this one)19:31
daemonthe VM ubuntu-server is in has 4 cores and 2G of ram19:31
daemonis there any reason it should sit with a spinning /-|\- etc on that step for 30 minutes+19:31
daemonI suppose on the active process the memory states and cpu usages keep changing so it is doing something..19:34
ahasenackthe SHA messages point at an outdated mirror19:35
ahasenackmaybe try to use the main archive instead (archive.ubuntu.com instead of fr.archive.ubuntu.com)19:35
daemonI only just grabbed the iso from the mirror an hour ago :p19:35
ahasenackalso, if you can, avoid using a proxy cache (if you are using one)19:35
ahasenackI meant outdated in the sense that the package list files that apt downloads are not agreeing with the checksums, the mirror updates in several steps, it could be in the middle of one such update19:36
ahasenackor, hm19:36
ahasenackis that from the cdrom?19:36
daemonubuntu-22.04.3-live-server-amd64.iso19:36
daemonSHA256 (ubuntu-22.04.3-live-server-amd64.iso) = 6a4bded51866bf01cc91cecd04193337c421768490e5386e6f8fa12772e1d2d319:37
daemongrabbed it @ https://ubuntu.com/download/server19:37
ahasenackI meant the "hash sum mismatch" error19:37
ahasenackthat's from the packages19:37
ahasenackand is not the hash of the iso19:37
daemonyeah it seems to be from the apt mirror its selecting (should be uk if geolocated)19:37
ahasenackI would try one more time without any mirror just to be sure19:38
daemonok dokey ill give her a whirl, thank you19:38
daemonwell the installer crashed instead ;D19:45
daemonthough the full log19:48
daemonhttps://dpaste.org/qt2xy19:48
daemonseems to be pointing towards other mismatches19:48
daemonhmm19:48
dbungertthat's the casper md5 check, saying the ISO files are invalid19:49
daemonwhat the heck did I break here I have installed this before19:49
daemonnot this precise ISO but ubuntu-server19:50
dbungerthttps://releases.ubuntu.com/jammy/SHA256SUMS doesn't match the sum you posted, maybe download the ISO again19:50
daemonill manually grab it from another mirror and sha256 it19:51

daemonok lets try again ;D20:00
daemonwell ... 95771 root         22   4    0  2140M  1783M kqread   0   5:04 236.26% bhyve: install.sh (bhyve)20:03
daemonits using a lot more cpu for the install this time :)20:03
daemonand no checksum errors yet20:03
daemonit installed20:04
daemonit was the iso ... time to write a postit note about checking SHA256SUMS#20:04
ahasenacknice20:08
ahasenackamazing how download corruptions can still occur20:08
ahasenackI wonder if it happens if a download is interrupted and then resumed20:08
daemonit was not in this case, 1gbit pipe and 'fetch' does not even support resumes x-x20:09
daemonI have installed gentoo, freebsd, ubuntu(-server), debian, rasbian, slackware, netbsd and a bunch of stuff I likely forgot and I have NEVER seen a corruption; must be the government! 20:10
daemonhttps://i.imgur.com/bILIGFG.png decided to re-do the install to prepack it with docker and the network config, but how can life exist without tmux and bmon, its so fun to just watch multiple statistical applications tick away20:28
daemonall working now :D https://i.imgur.com/Vy43mzb.png slower than expected but thank you all21:24
