Matt55Hi, kinda a linux noob here and I got a head scratcher.  We have a NUC with lubuntu installed for controlling a LED ticker.  The company that we got it from is Rise Displays.  We're pretty sure we can have this back up and running if only we can get it connected to the internet but trying to access the network settings we keep getting hit by a15:08
Matt55username password block.  Is there any just simple thing like a Windows ipconfig command just to see if this thing is even getting connected?15:08
Matt55I don't want to change anything, I just want to see if it's gotten assigned an IP and or can see our network.  Best we've got so far is opening firefox and getting the no internet page, but that might just be this thing being locked out of the internet.15:13
Matt55Found my answer....it's called ifconfig in linux.  Have a good day everyone15:54
wxlMatt55: it is most interesting that some company is using Lubuntu in this way. you have more information on it for curiousity's sake?16:18
Matt55not too sure, it seems to be the brains that tells a series of led panels what to display.  Boots lubuntu, and it's pretty locked down.  *shrug* probably some screwy proprietary BS16:42
tomreynMatt55: "ip a" would display ip address configurations on network interfaces nowadays.16:50
tomreynapparently you login with a google account at https://ticker.risedisplay.com/ to manage these17:01
