StudioChat53hi, I'm new to ubuntu studio, and to KDE in that front. Can anyone tell me if there is any way to change the menu bar from the top to the bottom? Thanks ;05:50
StudioChat53;)05:50
StudioChat53Hi Thanks, finally sorted it out..05:58
=== rainystorm1 is now known as rainystorm
StudioUser92good day18:08
StudioUser92I'm new to Ubuntu Studio18:08
EickmeyerAwesome!18:10
StudioUser92I noticed that the qpwgraph icon in the task bar doesn't display. It's blank. Is this a KDE issue or the distro? Trying to figure out where to report the issue.18:10
EickmeyerIt's mostly a discrepancy between qt6 and qt5. The desktop is running on qt5 while qpwgraph is running qt6. There's nothing really that can be done until Plasma 6 comes out, probably won't be part of Ubuntu Studio for another year.18:11
EickmeyerSo, not really a bug, just more of the fact that one moved technologically before the other.18:12
StudioUser92I see18:12
StudioUser92My OCD kicked in.. I guess I'm gonna have to tame my OCD for a while D:18:12
EickmeyerHonestly, raysession (in the taskbar next to the web browser by default) serves the same purpose.18:13
EickmeyerNot raysession. Patchance. I mistyped.18:13
EickmeyerStudioUser92: To be honest, there's no real reason to have qpwgraph running in the taskbar at all times, unless you really need it.18:15
EickmeyerStudioUser92: I just noticed I don't have the issue. What release of Ubuntu Studio? yy.mm18:17
Eickmeyer!yy.mm18:17
ubottuUbuntu version numbers are: YY.MM (YY=release year,MM=release month). Each year sees two releases, so just specifying YY is imprecise. See also https://www.ubuntu.com/about/release-cycle18:17
StudioUser9223.1018:17
EickmeyerOdd. I just launched qpwgraph and have no issue, tray icon is there.18:18
StudioUser92Was afraid of having routes change. In qpwgraph you can save the graph it seems.18:18
StudioUser92Didn't see that in patchance18:19
EickmeyerPatchance automatically saves the positioning of everything.18:19
StudioUser92Ok.. thanks for the info. Will use patchance instead.18:20
EickmeyerIf you need true session management, its counterpart (RaySession) might be what you need as it will save connections.18:21
StudioUser92Ok thanks. Will check it out.18:22
Eickmeyer??18:23
EickmeyerDon't know why it's posting questionmarks.18:23
EickmeyerMy chat client seems a little bitrotted.18:23
EickmeyerWas supposed to be a thumbs up.18:23
StudioUser92While I'm here. There is an application that I'm trying to use that doesn't show up in the graph. There are 2 version of the application, on is an ALSA binary and the other one a JACK binary. I've tried launching both, but none show up.18:24
StudioUser92The JACK version says it requires JACKd218:24
EickmeyerStudioUser92: What application is that?18:29
StudioUser92Stereo Tool18:29
EickmeyerThat's not in the Ubuntu repositories is it?18:30
StudioUser92no, he has binaries on his webpage18:30
EickmeyerYeah, unfortunately if it's not in the Ubuntu repositories, we can't support it. :(18:31
StudioUser92"The Jack versions supports processing audio from other programs via Jack. Requires Jack to be installed (Ubuntu: sudo apt-get install jackd2)"18:31
EickmeyerSo, jackd2 is already installed by default, but the pipewire-jack that's already running takes care of what is required. 18:32
StudioUser92Eickmeyer Allright, just thought I would try and ask. Thanks though18:32
EickmeyerIf it's not showing up, you'd have to talk to the dev.18:32
