[00:20] Anyone here? [06:00] yhh [16:55] c [20:54] Hello. [20:56] I have a laptop that doesn´t work well with (x)Ubuntu. I am trying again with the newest version. What are the recommendations in terms of EFI, fastboot, Intel Optane, etc... for installing? [20:59] Greg2, fastboot off, efi should work with secure-boot on/off (if ISO cloned to media; the ISO write impacts this) [21:01] * guiverc assuming fastboot was windows fastboot; so file-system is clean and not ignored [21:03] @guiverc Thanks. Downloading 23.10 now. Going to put it on a flash drive via MultiWriter. This will not be dual boot. Just Xubuntu. [21:04] Otherwise giving up on this laptop. Not worth my time anymore if this doesnt work. I hate how badly Linux is treated by some manufacturers. [21:10] older devices can sometimes be easier with older kernels (ie. 22.04 with GA stack meaning 22.04(.1) but you'll detect that on boot (graphic issues yes/no).. I prefer larger ESP size but I dual boot [21:17] @guiverc Its not that old. Just a few years. And its had issues since day 1. [21:21] It doesnt have graphical issues. It just often just doesnt want to boot up. It takes many tried some times to boot. After boot its alright. But its very frustrating. [21:23] Greg2: It may be good to ensure latest BIOS updates are applied. [21:29] @torv Yes, I updated the BOIS after all the issues, but it did not fix it. Havent checked lately if theres another BIOS update. Maybe I should. [21:47] loading manufacturer defaults and setting it up again may also help with boot issues [22:58] #xubuntu [22:58] alguem sabe como instalar o compiz no xubuntu [22:58] desde ja muito obrigado [22:58] tenhamos uma boa tarde [22:59] acho que estou no lugar errado [22:59] até
