[02:15] Trying to put linux into a windows computer. Windows blocks or corrupts everything I try. I have followed ALL instructions, to the letter, and no results. I have loaded WSL, but my input says it's not activated, but THEY do not tell how to activate it. I have two new CD's from Ubuntu store, but they won't activate either. Nothing I have tried, even [02:15] on the windows computer will take me to the start page. If I could get there, I can upgrade, install, and get rid of windows. Any help would HELP... Thanx [02:42] Having trouble understanding where that's even remotely on-topic. [19:15] Umm... got a slight issue here (and yes this is something I can fix myself but wanted to mention here in case it's worth a bug report). I just plugged an SSD with a Debian 11 BIOS installation on it into an EFI machine, and am attempting to install Ubuntu Studio Jammy on top of it. I'm at the Partitions screen, and I get three options - Install [19:15] alongside, Replace a partition, and Manual partitioning. For some reason I thought there should be an "Erase disk" option here too. [19:16] The SSD is a 1 TB MBR drive currently, with a large primary partition containing Debian at the start, and a small logical partition with swap at the end. [19:16] Bug report worthy, or shall I just say "hmph, weird" and move on? [19:16] btw this is the daily Jammy image, not the usual 22.04.3 image. [19:17] (since I'm doing an SRU verification test) [19:17] Eickmeyer: ^ [19:23] also my sha256sum on the ISO is good and Etcher claims that the data saved to the drive was able to be accurately verified. [19:27] Just went ahead and manual partitioned my way through. [20:33] arraybolt3: Sorry, I've been out sick today. [20:34] "hrumph, weird" sounds about right though. No clue what would've changed since .3
