[06:35] hello, I tried to boot 23.10 and I cant connect to the internet, lshw shows the network card, my router gives it an IP, in 23.04 it works flawlessly, it is wired network, the bug persists in 24.04 [06:35] this is a major issue [06:36] Guest42: wich iso daily did you try of 24.04? [06:36] https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ [06:37] it shows a ? on the network icon in my top bar on anything past 23.04 [06:37] I even tried a 22.10 USB I had laying around and it booted and the internet works fine [06:38] for poops and giggles I tried Fedora 39 and it works fine there [06:39] I thought it was due to gnome [06:39] its not [06:40] something got boogered and my apologies for the inconvenience [06:40] are you sure its not your own network borked Guest42 ? [06:41] fairly certain as it works on previous live isos [06:41] allrighty [06:41] and other distros entirely [06:42] when it failed to work in 24.04 I booted a fedora 39 usb I have that I use for work [06:43] I have been using Linux and specifically Ubuntu since 2014 [06:45] I can work out a lot of these issues by myself normally but if it is something to do with installer isos, it is something that effects more than just me. I COULD go into the ISO and edit files etc but that helps me and myself [06:45] check the latest bugs on launchpad Guest42 if you cant find similar in the !24.04 and !23.10 releasenotes, file a new !bug [06:46] yeah I will file a bug, I will have to take a video and upload it to youtube lol [06:47] I will work it out too and file the fix and see if it gets used [06:47] these things happen [06:48] I have an nvidia gpu so I dont normally do dist-upgrades as doing that breaks things [06:48] so whenever theres a new release that I want to test or something, I will actually download the iso and test it out [06:49] install it, install drivers etc [06:49] strangely enough as of 23.10 and 24.04 my bluetooth dongle works [06:49] its an insignia windows only dongle [06:51] I think thats gnome finally catching up to current bluetooth standards
