vorlonspeaking of making things Just Work https://code.launchpad.net/~vorlon/livecd-rootfs/+git/livecd-rootfs/+merge/45885400:10
sarnoldare those CVS merge markers intentional?00:12
vorlonwhat's CVS00:19
vorlondidn't notice I was out of date wrt trunk; fixing00:19
sarnoldyou know, CVS, it's like RCS but for multiple computers00:20
vorlonRCS> https://jibe.google.com/ that's cool, never heard of it00:21
sarnoldlol00:22
vorlonfossfreedom_: ah it appears that somewhere this cycle we accidentally dropped the ubuntu-budgie legacy support in livecd-rootfs as a side effect of dropping it for ubuntu, and https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-cdimage/+livefs/ubuntu/noble/ubuntu-budgie-legacy is full of "legacy" builds that are identical to the non-legacy builds, and no one has complained, so I'm going to go ahead and shut that off now00:27
Eickmeyervorlon: Thanks for the help, and that making things Just Work is a nice addition!00:28

arraybolt3umm... virtualbox from proposed on Focal, installing Windows 11, and the actual VirtualBox VM window has no logo in the dock.01:39
arraybolt3does that sounds like a regression?01:40
Eickmeyerarraybolt3: That largely depends on a number of things, including the host graphics driver and graphics hardware.02:07
arraybolt3Eickmeyer: It's Intel's integrated graphics on a Haswell CPU. Just using the normal i915 or whatever driver is default in Focal.02:08
arraybolt3Other application icons show up, only VBox VMs don't have one.02:08
Eickmeyerarraybolt3: guest drivers installed?02:09
arraybolt3in the VM, yes.02:09
arraybolt3it happened regardless of whether they were installed or not.02:09
Eickmeyerarraybolt3: I'd ask LocutusOfBorg before marking a regression, he's the expert.02:11
arraybolt3+102:11
arraybolt3anyway, other than that things seem to be working well so far02:11
EickmeyerI don't give much credence to 1) Windows 11 in a VM, and 2) Windows 11 in a VM running on an older kernel (Focal).02:12
arraybolt3fwiw a Focal VM has the same issue :P02:12
rbasakThat sounds...suspiciously specific. Are you sure it's introduced by the proposed package?02:16
-queuebot:#ubuntu-release- New binary: golang-k8s-sigs-release-utils [amd64] (noble-proposed/universe) [0.7.7-1] (no packageset)02:19
arraybolt3rbasak: not sure yet, going to be testing that quite soon02:27
arraybolt3right now I'm doing the Linux half of the regression testing, then I will be installing the VirtualBox from -release and seeing what happens.02:28
=== deathcollege is now known as academia_gothica
arraybolt3Missing dock icon is **not** a regression :D03:35
rbasakOh wait. You mean the dock on the *host*? I thought you meant in the guest!03:48
rbasakThat's less suspiciously specific, so I retract what I said above.03:48
rbasakBut it's good that you determined that it's not a regression :)03:48
Eickmeyer I also thought you meant the guest!03:53
arraybolt3oh lol, no, I meant on the host :)04:04
arraybolt3I considered sending a screenshot but then thought it wasn't necessary :P04:04

zhsjhi, can we hint autopkgtest itself is force-badtest on armhf? reason see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autopkgtest/+bug/204973709:34

upilsHi. As per LP: #1758702 gitaly should be removed from the archive. But is looks like it was either reuploaded or not removed back in December https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/noble/+source/gitaly . Is there a specific reason? I supposed the rationale for removing it is still valid.10:12

rs2009hey y'all, I've been trying to get Ubuntu 22.04 and 23.10 working without any graphical issues on a 14900H with Iris Xe graphics (a7a0); there appears to be a "grid" of continuously flickering "box"es (whenever there's a new frame rendered, that is if there's any movement on the screen) on GNOME with Wayland, while on X11 there are boxes exhibiting10:21
rs2009the same behavior passing through the center of the screen (not a grid per se, just a line of boxes through the center)10:21
rs2009whoops, wrong channel lol; meant to send this in #ubuntu10:22
ginggszhsj: I added a hint, and debootstrap/1.0.134ubuntu1 migrated11:42
zhsjginggs: thanks11:50
