lubot[matrix] <roberalz> Are the discs unmounted?00:01
cristian_croberalz, yeah, I tried to unmount the partitions too00:08
cristian_cliemon, it turned out it was a silly problem. I did not edited the partition properties, selecting mount point00:08
cristian_c(in this case: /)00:09
liemon:o00:09
liemonso the mounting point was missing?00:09
liemonof the root partition00:09
cristian_cthis way, Next button is enabled and a dialog warns me I should create an efi partition mounted as /boot/efi and with 'boot' flag enabled00:09
liemonyes, the thing i was mentioning, then the mount point should be /boot/efi and marking the button that says 'boot'(the boot flag)00:10
cristian_cliemon, I did not that in manual partitioning screen (it would have been easy to find out since it has always been so since birth of ubuntu)00:11
cristian_cnot selecting mount point I made a dumb mistake, shame on me00:12
liemonno worries, i have been in that place too ^^00:12
lubot[telegram] <tsimonq2> I can't see who is still around on IRC, going through some of the questions now :)02:39
lubot[telegram] <tsimonq2> (For reference, it's great to idle in here when you have a question. Also, another friendly poke towards Matrix ;) )02:41
lubot[telegram] <tsimonq2> cristian_c: I'm glad you figured yours out :)02:42
lubot[telegram] <tsimonq2> liemon: You made it to 23.10 or you still need assistance? :)02:42
lubot[telegram] <AngryAutos> Anyone know why DVDs will not play on the latest version of lubuntu/ubuntu? It plays audio CDs but none of the DVDs I have that I know work will play05:28
arraybolt3AngryAutos: These are movie DVDs for major movies, right?05:36
arraybolt3If so, you're missing libdvdcss, which is omitted from Ubuntu due to legal reasons (what it does can be seen as bypassing DRM measures, which is illegal in some areas even if you're doing it to watch content you have a right to since you purchased it/licensed it/whatever the right term is here'd it). It can be installed, but it takes some effort.05:37
arraybolt3basically run `sudo apt install libdvd-pkg`, wait for the install to fail (it does so by design), follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation, and once everything's done try again.05:38
cristian_ctsimonq2, I've installed 23.10 but since I can't boot that, I've to find a way to install bootloader (and it's not so simple as it appears)07:38
lubot[telegram] <AngryAutos> Yes and I installed that and it still says no disc (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <arraybolt3> AngryAutos: These are movie DVDs for major movies, right?)14:38
lubot[telegram] <AngryAutos> When I installed libdvd-pkg it gave me a bunch of microsoft prompts I had to hit ok in terminal which was very different never had to do that in terminal14:39
