user|62hello, my laptop will stop working once i installed kubuntu. irq/179-iwlwifi:default_queue in htop shows 1 cpu core at 100% while the rest are all not being used for anything. My computer will freeze and become unusable. what can i do?08:19
user|62sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi  sudo modprobe iwlwifi08:22
user|62that will momentarily fix the issue, but once i reboot it comes back08:23

user|17Hello, I have a high resolution display on my laptop. How can I increase the width of the scroll bar, and how can I increase the size of the icons <- and -> etc on my browser and on the task bar?12:03
diogenes_Vx15user|17, try adding to /etc/environment the following line: PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING=112:09
diogenes_Vx15and reboot.12:09
user|17I inserted into /etc/environment the line as suggested , but no change. Should I increase the "1" in PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING=1 to a bigger number to see the effect ?12:15
diogenes_Vx15user|17, no, this is what you should do:12:28
diogenes_Vx15System Settings > Display and Monitor > Display Configuration > Global Scale.12:28
diogenes_Vx15Drag the slider to the desired size.12:28
diogenes_Vx15Restart for the settings to take effect.12:28
diogenes_Vx15adding 1 to PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING=1 just enables this option, 1 = enable, 0 = disable.12:29
user|17ad1m yes, it helps for the taskbar, thanks. But the icons on the Firefox browser are still the same. There is probably some separate scaling for firefox, but I did not find it yet.12:57
user|17diogenes_Vx15 yes, it helps for the taskbar, thanks. But the icons on Firefox are still very small. Apparently there is some other way of rescaling these icons on Firefox, but I did not yet find it12:59
diogenes_Vx15user|17, have a look at the last post in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/6oyuem/change_icon_size_in_settings/13:00
diogenes_Vx15user|17, also for firefox specifically take a look a this post: https://support.mozilla.org/mk/questions/137842013:04
