flybackanyone have any good guides for setting up xrdp on lubuntu18:20
flybacknm for now I don't have time to wprk on this anymore18:35
wxlflyback: my advice is to use NoMachine. it's the best remote access solution i've ever found18:55
flybackhmm, illl consider it21:52
flybackthing is I got xrdp to run but like the desktop is half started, like lxqt-session isn't running and you can't logout23:06
flybackand what the canuck- happen to lubuntu.me23:11
flybacklike all the help search hits on google are broken23:11
arraybolt3Lubuntu's infrastructure is temporarily down.23:11
arraybolt3Sysadmin moved things, we're waiting on Canonical IS to bring us back up.23:12
arraybolt3(which is taking a bit)23:12
flybackok, glad it's not serious23:12
arraybolt3We're still very much alive and kicking :)23:12
arraybolt3as for xrdp, I sadly have no experience with it. I've always used VNC in some form.23:13
arraybolt3flyback: one thing you might try though, make sure you're *fully logged out" on the machine you'r eremoting into before you remote into it.23:14
wxlre: xrdp it's been years since i worked with it but there were all sorts of quirks and issues that i struggled with to make it work. then i found NoMachine and never looked back. i'm not inclined to recommend proprietary software, but in this case it's simply the clear winner. at least it's free.23:14
arraybolt3LXQt doesn't like trying to have two parallel instances running.23:14
flybackyeah I might give nomachine a go since there's a android client also23:15
arraybolt3If you need to log out remotely, SSH in, use `loginctl` to list active sessions, and use `loginctl terminate-session` to log them out (forcefully! be careful)23:15
flybackor spice protocol even23:15
flybackxxrdp isn't even doing what I want, I can't park it resized on the windows desktop like I can connecting to another windows desktop23:17
* flyback uninstalls23:19
flybackhmm nomachine has a browser fallback23:54
flybackso that pretty much covers any os23:54
flybackclient wise23:54
wxlyup23:55
wxleven gracefully handles multiple monitors23:55
