stgraberis rmadison stuck/broken?15:42
stgraberincus has moved to the noble release pocket 6 days ago, all binaries are in there and apt is happy with it, but looking at rmadison output, it's showing me:15:43

philrocheI believe there was an issue with rmadison following the LP outage last week. I see the new incus upload `0.5.1-1` using https://snapcraft.io/ubuntu-package-status which queries the archive using the LP API15:46

tsimonq2From a Kubuntu Member perspective, I concur with arraybolt3. :)18:27
arraybolt3gah, is there somewhere where those things are documented? :P18:27
arraybolt3I know there's u_buntu-sru, u_buntu-release, and only now am I learning/remembering that there's u_buntu-archive.18:27
tsimonq2Yeah, there's those three, and q_a-help to get the QA Team's attention (so specifically, questions about the autopkgtest service, ISO QA tracker, and bugs as a meta item.)18:29
tsimonq2And I've learned that it's also a good idea to check https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/autopkgtest-service/34490/2 before pinging QA. I do wish the other teams had similar pages. :)18:30
tsimonq2vorlon, mwhudson: Just caught your above messages re: livecd-rootfs, I do appreciate it! I had it down to "either it's a missing mkdir or the .chroot_early hook isn't being ran," and tried the former. Anyway, thanks!18:34

UnivrslSuprBoxHey ubuntu-archive, I just found lp:2053071 which prevents faketime from doing much of anything useful in lunar+. However, it also causes the package to FTBFS for a different patch that I'd like to put in. I'm not sure how much work it would be to fix faketime for 32-bit architectures, it seems broken upstream as well. What's the path forward?21:10
-ubottu:#ubuntu-release- Launchpad bug 2053071 in faketime (Ubuntu) "faketime i386 and armhf fail to fake timestamps through date(1) in lunar and above" [Undecided, New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/205307121:10
vorlonadrien: ^^21:12
vorlonUnivrslSuprBox: not really an ubuntu-archive question unless you're asking for package removal21:12
UnivrslSuprBoxtsimonq2: redirect loop :P21:13
adrienUnivrslSuprBox: I'm a bit surprised; can you confirm the issue is present without your latest changes? (sorry if you already said so somewhere, it's late here)21:18
adrienah, right, sorry; I read again21:18
UnivrslSuprBoxadrien: yep, installed faketime straight from the archive on jammy, kinetic, lunar, mantic, and noble in i386 chroots to test.21:18
UnivrslSuprBoxMy changes _do_ fix stat(1) and ls(1) on i386 though! :P21:19
adrienI would expect the test command-line to succeed on 32-bit arches unless your timezone is "east" of UTC21:20
adrienwhat I mean is that:21:21
adrien% faketime -f '1970-01-01 00:00:01' date +%s21:21
adrien-359921:21
adrien% TZ=UTC faketime -f '1970-01-01 00:00:01' date +%s21:21

jbichavorlon: I think you need to roll back libguestfs ; the latest version depends on glib2.0 which is entangled with python3 (via gobject-introspection)21:54
vorlonjbicha: can you elaborate on the entanglement here so I understand? I don't see gobject-introspection mentioned wrt glib2.0 on either update_excuses or update_output21:56
vorlonI: kubuntu-installer-prompt: spelling-error-in-binary Lon Long [usr/bin/kubuntu-installer-prompt]21:57
vorlonwell that's gratuitous21:57
jbichaglib2.0 claims "will attempt migration" but I believe it needs gobject-introspection 1.78.1-13 changes "don't force glib to match exactly"21:57
vorlonit doesn't even show up in 'strings', could just be a random 3-character bit of the binary :P21:57
vorlonjbicha: ack21:57
vorlonjbicha: and is there a build of gobject-introspection not entangled with python3-defaults that I could roll back to instead?21:58
jbichavorlon: no, 1.78.1-13 was in experimental. I synced it (actually -14) because I knew we would need it, but it was too late since python3 had already begun21:59
vorlonack21:59
vorlonwhich version of libguestfs do I need to roll back to?22:00
jbichavorlon: reading the changelog, I guess 1:1.52.0-2ubuntu2 since we aren't ready for php, right?22:01
vorlonno idea about that one22:01
vorlonbut let's take the one that was specifically for perl, thanks22:01
vorlondone22:01
cpeteSo ros-ros-comm is the final blocker for the tinyxml2 transition and is one of the blockers in the python3-defaults transition, mainly due to usage of now deprecated unittest code in python3.12. I've been working on a patch to update the test code, but between the growing complexity of the patch and the question of if we even want to ship these packages in noble, I think we should just hint it.22:07
