habys | after an `apt dist-upgrade -y --autoremove`, `apt list --upgradable` still shows: "coreutils/jammy-updates 8.32-4.1ubuntu1.1 amd64 [upgradable from: 8.32-4.1ubuntu1]" what is this? | 15:46 |
---|---|---|
habys | `apt-cache policy coreutils` shows it's the latest version, I don't know what "coreutils/jammy-updates" is. There is an addition package that shows up if -a is given to `apt list --upgradable` as well | 15:47 |
Satyr | Hi everyone! | 15:47 |
Satyr | I ran into a problem trying to build a qcow image of ubuntu 22.04.03 via packer with autoinstall. | 15:47 |
Satyr | The normal build works, but I need to change the fstype to xfs for the root partition and can't get it to work. | 15:47 |
Satyr | This configuration(https://pastebin.com/ZcpCZS4B) worked for PXE but does not work for the qcow build. | 15:47 |
Satyr | I get an error: | 15:47 |
Satyr | FAIL: autoinstall config did not create necessary bootloader partition | 15:47 |
Satyr | Hi all, have a question about building qcow ubuntu image: https://dpaste.com/HV3PYB46R | 15:51 |
dbungert | Satyr: offhand the error isn't jumping out at me. If you do an install manually it will produce a /var/log/installer/autoinstall-user-data. You can use that as a starting point and make modifications from there. Doing the install with manual partitioning may get you closer to the desired config. | 15:52 |
dbungert | and no, you can't change the fs as part of a layout style install | 15:52 |
Satyr | dbungert Thanks, I didn't know about that directory. | 15:59 |
Satyr | Went in there and saw that the generated configuration on the server is the same as the one I did manually, except that the generated one explicitly includes the paths. | 15:59 |
Satyr | I'll give it a try, but at first glance I've already done this in one of the iterations and unfortunately so far the fumbling isn't yielding results. | 15:59 |
habys | why would `apt list --upgradable` show a package is upgradable with the same version number | 16:01 |
habys | this persists after a reboot as well. | 16:02 |
oerheks | 8.32-4.1ubuntu1 to 8.32-4.1ubuntu1.1 .... | 16:04 |
habys | ohh .1 | 16:10 |
habys | ty | 16:10 |
habys | so if `apt -y dist-upgrade` won't install it, how can I install it? | 16:10 |
habys | oh I got it | 16:11 |
habys | phased update.. damn | 16:11 |
habys | sorry for the noise | 16:11 |
habys | thanks for pointing out the .1 I missed | 16:12 |
oerheks | apt install <package> directly | 16:12 |
oerheks | yw | 16:12 |
