I am booted with a live usb of ubuntu studio now. In mx linux it has a grub repair. Is there one in ubuntu studio? [21:05] <Eickmeyer> There is no grub repair in Ubuntu Studio. What happened to make you unable to boot it? [21:06] <Eickmeyer> I recommend this to try to recover your boot: https://www.supergrubdisk.org/ [21:07] <Eickmeyer> Once booted, run `sudo grub-install` followed by `sudo update-grub` and you should be back to normal. [21:10] <StudioUser27> I've been creating images of several linux distros and a windoz 10 using a 2 bay usb external drive, for a couple days now. I must have confused my laptop. [21:13] <StudioUser27> Ok. From a live ubuntu-studio boot in a termianl I just did: [21:13] <StudioUser27> sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt update [21:13] <StudioUser27> sudo apt install -y boot-repair && boot-repair [21:13] <StudioUser27> which I found on [21:13] <StudioUser27> https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair [21:13] <StudioUser27> If this does not work I will do what you suggested above. [21:14] <Eickmeyer> StudioUser27: I'm not familiar with that method, and we don't allow long pastes in here, which is why you were automatically +q'd. [21:14] <Eickmeyer> And if you found the solution on your own, why bother asking in here? [21:20] <StudioUser27> sorry I did a search after posting here. it popped up a window and when I clicked apply it gave me the following: "The current session is in BIOS-compatibility mode. Please disable BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode in your UEFI firmware, and use this software from a live-CD (or live-USB) that is compatible with UEFI booting mode. For example, [21:20] <StudioUser27> use a live-USB of Boot-Repair-Disk-64bit (www.sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair-cd), after making sure your BIOS is set up to boot USB in EFI mode."
