This is what kept me off Kubuntu 22.04 for 2 years. [05:26] I cannot sanction KDE's buffoonery [05:32] I can tell you 23.10 does not require the profile select, I just tried it. === tom is now known as Guest8959 === dehnhardt is now known as hold [06:51] praise be to Allah! [07:20] Anyone that can get Wayland and nvidia to play well in 23.10? [09:03] Is kubuntu affected by xz compression backdoor? [09:14] It did not get into debian stable, gentoo or any version of ubuntu as far as I've understood [09:17] Will the kubuntu 24.04 be based on kde 5.27? [09:20] yeah, kde 6 comes later in 24.10 [09:24] Do you people use old snapshot of kde neon and change the base to Ubuntu 24.04 or compile kde from scratch with Ubuntu 24.04 base? [09:27] What is the process ? How kubuntu is developed ? [09:30] I'm just a regular user and my knowledge ends here, perhaps someone else here knows. This chat isn't super active though so might take a while [09:37] All kde packages are either synced from Debian (when possible) or packaged here in Kubuntu [09:38] OK thank you [09:40] Our devs also work loosely with Neon at times, but we do not take their packages or packaging directly [09:42] e.g. changes in Neon for new KDE versions may be helpful in showing what we need to do when we packages the same new things === Lord_of_Life_ is now known as Lord_of_Life [10:59] kubuntu: I'm on 23.10 and after the last update I did, my plasma desktop is black. The mouse works but right clicking the desktop does nothing. I can open apps from the command line but the panel is not visible. Everything seems ok except no desktop. What might be causing this? [16:27] iomari891: Have you tried running "plasmashell" or "plasmadesktop" from within X? does - get you the krunner widget? === sebastian is now known as Guest7810 [17:51] Are the new nvk driver coming to kubuntu 24.04?
