[16:25] Eickmeyer: Am I supposed to be able to upgrade from 2204 to 2310? Anyway. it seems possible. There were more than one try with blank error messages but it kept shoiwing me I could upgrade and it kept going a bit further every time. The 3rd time, once it changed sources, it finished. [16:25] OvenWerks: I just answered you on Matrix. [16:26] TL;DR: ubuntu-release-upgrader makes it possible. [16:26] I wasn't sure if my message got out on matrix... and this box doesn't have it [16:26] my other box is already 2310 [16:26] I was asleep when you sent it and answered when I got up this morning. [16:27] So, you don't have to do sequentially through the releases anymore. ubuntu-release-upgrader is pretty good at handling upgrading from the LTS to whatever you're upgrading to. The mechanism is that when you're upgrading, it downloads ubuntu-release-upgrader for whatever release you're upgrading to and already knows the idiosyncrasies for whatever [16:27] you're upgrading from. [16:27] thank you. I didn't expect an answer last night ;) [16:27] but the matrix app said it had no network access [16:28] That sounds good. [16:28] Hmm.. your homeserver might be down. [16:29] Well, it may have been.... also we shut things off between 0030 and 0600.... so we don't get 0300 phone calls [16:30] (from relatives who don't bother to figure out what time it is here [16:31] sometimes the matrix app is fine with that other times it notices lost connection and doesn't notice reconnection.
