IrcsomeBot<Nero2070> Hey everyone04:58
IrcsomeBot<Nero2070> So I installed kubuntu this week...and Ive Been struggling to set up Rstudio to work... anyone with ideas on how to remove and do a clean install?04:58
IrcsomeBot<Nero2070> Thanks04:58
valorie@Nero207004:59
valorieoops, what's rstudio?05:00
valorieand how did you install it?05:01
IrcsomeBot<Nero2070> It's a statistical software... It has worked in Debian, Ubuntu, manjaro, zorin os ...but now in Kubuntu ain't working for me (re @IrcsomeBot: <valorie> oops, what's rstudio?)05:04
valorieoh right, R05:04
valoriegot it05:04
valorieinstalled with apt/discover, etc.?05:04
valorieeasiest and best to uninstall the same way that you installed it05:05
valorienext question, did you file a bug report?05:06
valorie`ubuntu-bug rstudio` in konsole05:06
valoriethat will lead you through the process05:06
valorieyou may discover your answer in the bug reports and answers05:07
karenwI reported a bug on launchpat with ubuntu-bug. How long does it normally take for someone to give it an initial look over?05:10
karenwHopefully not so long that it might be faster for me to track down the offending code and send a PR upstream. :D05:11
valoriethat could work as well!05:17
valorieor it could be some sort of packaging error05:17
valoriethank you for making kubuntu better by filing that BR05:17
karenwI'm not the same person as had the issue with Rstudio, sorry05:18
karenwMy BR was with plasma-shell05:18
valorieah05:18
valoriewell, it depends on how good the available information is05:19
valorieour devels work with plasma devels but as you can imagine, it is a busy time05:19
valoriework is happening on the next release six months from now05:22

IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> I want to install kubuntu but when I go to install it's not detect my Ssd that already install the windows10:19
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> I want to remove the windows and install the kubuntu10:19
BluesKajHi all14:20
karenw@mr_honesty1: You can't shrink a partition past the last bit of data on that partition. Unfortunately there's no easy way to move that around (On a HDD I'd say try defragmenting which can help as a side-effect, but you can't typically defragment SSDs).14:56
karenwIf you just want to wipe Windows completely and install kubuntu, that should be fine. Odd that it doesn't detect the SSD though, sounds like a driver issue. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about that side of things can help.14:57
nuxilit might be a bios issue aswell. on my motherboard. i need to some spesific settings to use sata port 5 and 6. i was scratching my head a bit why they didnt work at 1st.15:37
nuxilfor once i had to RTFM for the motherboard :P15:37

IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Is there any way for tilling the kde windows?? Like windows or mac tilling features or19:31
valoriehmmm, tiling19:32
bpromptmr_honesty: hmmmm what do you  have in mind?19:32
valorieI think so but since I hate tiling, I've never tried it19:33
valorieI know many love it19:33
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Yes i want to tiling the window according me and like windows19:33
bpromptmr_honesty:   doable, it depends on what you mean, sounds like you're referring to the "cascade" option in windows or "tile" where all windows do a "masonry" over the screen19:33
bprompthmmmm I have regularly about 20 windows open, I don't need them tiled19:34
bpromptand I don't use tiling even in windows6419:34
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Its work so. When we develop the website we open the browser and VS code both together so I want left side vs code and right side Firefox when I resize the vs code Firefox auto resize (re @IrcsomeBot: <valorie> I think so but since I hate tiling, I've never tried it)19:35
bpromptor cascading for that matter, since I need each window at an specific spot19:35
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Is this possible??19:35
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Or if I resize the Firefox vs code auto resize (re @mr_honesty1: Its work so. When we develop the website we open the browser and VS code both together so I want left side vs code and right side Firefox when I resize the vs code Firefox auto resize)19:36
valorieI just resize windows to do the same thing, but they can overlap if I want, so....19:37
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> I want to overlap I want when I resize the one windows another window auto resize it's Amazing features i19:38
bprompthmmm19:38
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> https://zeroxoneafour.github.io/polonium/19:39
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Please check about this if it's work19:39
bpromptmr_honesty:  tiling in windows doesn't quite work that way, you tile all open windows, and the tile is static, not dynamic, so if you move any of the tiles or resize them, the adjacent windows don't move, they simply overlap19:39
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> No no. They move i used windows 11 something like 3 month it's work. Fine (re @IrcsomeBot: <bprompt> mr_honesty:  tiling in windows doesn't quite work that way, you tile all open windows, and the tile is static, not dynamic, so if you move any of the tiles or resize them, the adjacent windows don't move, they simply overlap)19:40
bpromptmr_honesty:  now, how is so in VScode?   well, VScode uses a plugin to "embed" firefox or chrome or other browser, so you're looking at VScode all along and an embedded app inside VScode19:40
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Yah using the extension but I can not  do debugging na (re @IrcsomeBot: <bprompt> mr_honesty:  now, how is so in VScode?   well, VScode uses a plugin to "embed" firefox or chrome or other browser, so you're looking at VScode all along and an embedded app inside VScode)19:41
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> They just provide preview19:41
bpromptmr_honesty:   haven't checked in win11, so hmmm, however, why the need?19:41
bpromptmr_honesty:   I mean, I  move my windows to specific spots that I need them, I've never relied on tiling19:42
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> I love that feature so I want it's better it enhance the user experience (re @IrcsomeBot: <bprompt> mr_honesty:   haven't checked in win11, so hmmm, however, why the need?)19:42
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Yah if you use you love it just think you open two or more window together you don't need to resize all the windows every time if tiling work fine they can resize automatically (re @IrcsomeBot: <bprompt> mr_honesty:   I mean, I  move my windows to specific spots that I need them, I've never relied on tiling)19:44
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Can you tell me how I can install it? (re @mr_honesty1: https://zeroxoneafour.github.io/polonium/)19:45
bpromptmr_honesty:   well, "honestly" is a feature I don't use :), I mean, like I said, I regular have about 20 or more windows open, that's a feature that'd be a hindrance for me19:45
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> 👍🤌♥️ (re @IrcsomeBot: <bprompt> mr_honesty:   well, "honestly" is a feature I don't use :), I mean, like I said, I regular have about 20 or more windows open, that's a feature that'd be a hindrance for me)19:46
valorieIMO it is all about finding the tools that help you get what you want to do and just get on with it19:46
valorieif Win works better, go for it19:47
valoriethis ain't religion, it's about tools19:47
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Ah Linux is better I am not saying it's not better I just said that feature is amazing we need to. Implement in the gnome tilling is provided default19:48
bpromptmr_honesty:    well, about that "polonium" plasmoid I guess, is for Plasma 6, well, good news that it may do what  you want, bad news is Plasma 6 is not out yet, if any in Alpha version, as far as Kubuntu goes, it may have it by October, and that's a maybe19:48
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Ok (re @IrcsomeBot: <bprompt> mr_honesty:    well, about that "polonium" plasmoid I guess, is for Plasma 6, well, good news that it may do what  you want, bad news is Plasma 6 is not out yet, if any in Alpha version, as far as Kubuntu goes, it may have it by October, and that's a maybe)19:49
bpromptmr_honesty1:   https://www.tecmint.com/best-tiling-window-managers-for-linux/    <----- checked that yet?19:53
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Ok19:55
bpromptmr_honesty1:   also bear in mind that Kwin, what you run, is just "a window manager" off quite a few, I run LXQT, which uses Kwin, but only for windows management, so I customize other stuff any which way I need, independent of Kwin19:57
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Can anyone tell me which is light weight kde neon or kubuntu?20:36
tomreynthey both weigh exactly 0 gram20:39
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Haha20:39
oerhekskubuntu is heavier, as it is supported here.20:39
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Ok20:40
bpromptmr_honesty:   kde neon uses fat32, so it must be heavier :P20:45
bpromptmr_honesty:   a lot depends on your hardware, and your choice of what you'd like to run and use20:48
bpromptmr_honesty:   I run kde apps, and I run very light, like I said, I regularly run about 20 windows, and my webbrowser right now has about 20 tabs, and I run quite light20:49
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Ok thank20:51
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> Ok thanks20:51
IrcsomeBot<mr_honesty1> By the way where are you from20:51
bpromptmr_honesty:   "you"?   there 110 nicks here :), as myself, US, West Coast20:54
