[12:29] New to Kubuntu, Have installed a browser add-ons/extention to Chrome and Firefox "Plasma Intergration" which also requires you to first make sure you have the plasma-browser-integration package installed first for it to work. did a search for it on Discover and didn't find anything and not sure how to use bash to install it. Or maybe I'm just going [12:29] about it the wrong way? Can anyone point me in the write direction. [12:31] https://www.kubuntuforums.net/forum/currently-supported-releases/kubuntu-22-04-jammy-jellyfish/software-support-be/662682-firefox-snap-and-plasma-browser-integration [12:31] note that this may be outdated [12:32] apparently not https://discuss.kde.org/t/i-cant-get-plasma-browser-integration-working-firefox/16758 [12:33] I'll have a look at your link. Look good thanks for that. Time for bed, I've been enjoying Plasma. I'm transitioning from linux mint. [12:33] have a good night [12:34] thanks [12:50] Hi all === dan_ is now known as dan__ [20:04] Hmm what packages might I be missing that would lead Ark to be unable to open 7zip files to display their contents, but right-clicking in Dolphin and choosing Extract works fine? I'm on 24.04. [20:06] Checking the `ark` package recommends, I already have p7zip-full (which is a transitional package) and 7zip (what that one points to) installed. [20:30] there is a bug with Ark and 7zip.. [20:30] you can use Xarchiver to open 7zip files [20:31] @keithzg, [20:36] nuxil: Well that's suboptimal but frankly I mostly interact with zips by extracting them or on the command line so I guess that's not the *biggest* deal. Still, very unfortunate. [20:36] https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468240 I see seems to be the upstream bug [20:36] -ubottu:#kubuntu- KDE bug 468240 in ark "Ark can no longer open 7z archives ( possibly due to changes in 7zip new release )" [Normal, Confirmed] [20:37] ""And there is the additional problem of the p7zip/7-zip upstream projects being weirdly maintained." as someone in charge of packaging up 7zip for the software we ship at my work . . . yuuuuuuuup that is all too true [20:47] testing things before releasing it is a thing of the past.. why setup a testcase for every supported format when you can instead piss off folks and fill bugtrackers with uneeded stuff :P [20:51] hi, i am new using kubuntu [20:52] hi noob :p [20:52] just kidding ofc [20:52] I am trying it on live but i am considering installing it [20:53] why ? [20:54] Because its cool and also y want to use a new distro [20:54] have fun! [20:55] I spent a long time using mint and i got bored of it [20:55] kubuntu, because its cool? thats a bad reason.. :p i hope your not new to linux and this is cos of some hype thing you desided to install linux.. [20:56] we might not have a clue how you feel [20:56] oh [20:56] mint.. [20:57] what could went wrong [20:57] mint is only suited one place.. in the mouth as a candy :p [20:57] i am just bored [20:57] me too [20:58] i tried to run wine on warthunder located on my winblows disk.. didnt go well :P [20:58] so laggy.. 5fps
