[10:30] Hello? [12:14] Hi! Ubuntu 24.04 displaylink-driver is greedy (40-60%CPU)! Any remedy? [21:43] aay [21:43] i just installed this [21:47] yo [22:33] soliman_: Hi, glad you installed successfully. If you have a question about Xubuntu, just ask. [22:37] @tomreyn [22:37] how do i screenshot [22:58] soliman_: i forgot the shortcut for xfce for this, if any. try printscreen or right_alt-printscreen [22:59] a web search will likely yield answers faster than i did [22:59] ok thanks that worked [22:59] man this hexchat thing [22:59] its like i am in 2011 [23:00] maybe that's why some of us like it so much ;) [23:00] no distractions by animated gifs for sure [23:01] and you learn to describe things well textually. [23:01] what does blue name mean [23:01] you can still share the url of an image board where you posted your image, of course, but text is always preferred [23:01] yeah [23:01] where do you see that? [23:01] your name is blue [23:02] oh, that's just any person sending text to the channel, i think [23:02] ah ok [23:02] you can configure colors in hexchat's preferences [23:03] so this channel just connects everyone using xubuntu distro [23:03] (to a deegree, but there are also addons to configure them more) [23:03] ah ok [23:04] this channel is on the topic of xubuntu, it's an IRC channel on the IRC network named Libera.chat (which also has a website at this url) [23:04] a [23:04] IRC = internet relay chat. indeed a veeery old protocol, but updated and improved since. [23:05] btw when i restarted after install it did a little error thing [23:05] (there are also matrix and i think, discord, places for ubuntu and likely xubuntu support, i think) [23:05] and my firefox data reseted but i just logged into two websites [23:06] hmm, i'm not sure what may have happened there. [23:06] data loss should not normally happen [23:06] if it happens again i would very much recommend you check the system logs and hardware [23:08] journalctl -b shows all logs since you last booted. add -p3 to only see errors (-p4 would also show warnings). [23:08] those logs are very technical,t hough, you may not understand much if you're not into linux much
